The chest emblem looks a bit large. That's what she said.

The costume looks weird without the red undies.

It looks like it was designed by whoever did Tobey Maguire's Spiderman suit. Not huge on the side design or lack of red undies, but whatever. At least it doesn't have nipples, Snyder failed with that one once before.

I really want Superman to succeed as a film franchise, but that costume is absolutely hideous.

Yeah, I'm not feeling the lack of red trunks. But let's face it, that does give it a more "real world" look to it.

In my opinion, the last thing a Superman movie needs is a real world feel. There definitely needs to be humanity in the story and the characters, but he's a GD alien. I think this movie would be best served to follow the Marvel model as opposed to the Nolan Batman models. I hope that's how it turns out. Either way, I'm seeing this opening night at Midnight. I REALLY want to see a series of great Superman movies.

I'm just saying that, yeah we're all used to the iconic red trunks that he's always worn, but it would look kinda ridiculous in real life. I'm just being optimistic, because I also am excited about this movie.

It does look a little weird but still I think he makes a good Superman.

The costume looks great imo. And while I totally agree that a Superman movie shouldn't rely on realism, the suit having red trunks would look hokey. It still looks damn close to the original suit and is very close to the new comic suit. Look at it this way, have any of Batman's movie suits resembled the classic comic book suits? Pretty much just the cowl, cape and symbol. We still have our classic blue and red. I really think it's the best suit they could have gone with for this film.
I'm really looking forward to what Zack Snyder brings to the table with this movie as well. I think his direction and visual style will work great for Superman.

Cavill looks so much like when Supes came back with the black suit when his powers were depleted because of the fight with doomsday. Man I am pumped for this film. Hope they have Doomsday in a movie and Darkseid, or Brainiac.

I really dig the costume and Cavill actually looks like Superman in it.

Here's another full body shot. Looks a lot like the new reboot version. Maybe DC wants us to pretend he never wore red drawls?

I can definitely live without the red trunks, but I think the red belt on the DCnU version would've looked great on the movie version.
