I've called them many times between (WWE, DCUC, GL & YJ) and the only time they asked me to fax them a receipt was for the YJ Batman & Robin set I had purchased online from EE, because it wasn't in their system yet so they didn't know the SRP of it. So they said they'd check out their system after the holiday (It was July 4th weekend) to see if it was listed yet and if not they'd call me on that Wednesday and I'd need to fax them the receipt. But it turned out that it was the SRP as I received the voucher in the mail before they got back to me. I've never had any problems with Mattel CS.

I know someone who calls them every few months to get vouchers from them. They usually send them to him no questions asked. I tell him to stop doing it because he could possibly ruin it for others who really have a problem cause who knows they might change their policy on vouchers if enough ppl call them falsely.

I have got a voucher in the past. Though that's a nice gesture, it didn't get me back my legends 3 Rock. I went back to TRU and they had sold the other one, and never got him in since. Though later I would find him at Kmart I was a bit upset at first. The rocks Torso was so loose he couldn't hold him self up he would just slump over. Not to many companies would just issue a voucher for the full sale price though and they even emailed me a pre-paid postage to send the Rock back. Though I have had a bad experience with them regarding my ESR and the aprons being sewn poorly and ripping, I would say overall Mattel; customer service is superb.

I just bought 3 Terry Funks from Target. Every single one has the stuck legs where it's like he can't be in a sitting position. Should I ask Mattel for a $11 voucher? Is that a legitimate reason for getting one? If this happens with a full priced figure, I think I'll ask for one. I never really posed all my figures but after rechecking I've found some with the same problem. I think PJ may have asked Mattel about this problem a while back.

Yes I did because my DM Macho man's leg snapped off at the hip when I tried to move it. And I did get a voucher for it.

The only time I've ever called customer support was with Jakks, and they wanted me to send in the figure, the packaging, and the actual reciept, pay shipping to and from, and they'd replace the figure for me.

This is my first time (and hopefully last), I dont abuse it. I had an issue with my Basic 2 Kozlov and got the voucher when they were released. And didn't have anymore issues until about 2 months ago. And from then until July 4th I had a string of bad luck. And it was all the same problems - Fused legs at the hip. It happened to my DM Macho, 2 Movie Masters Series 1 Hal Jordan's, DCUC Series 16(?) Classic Robin, YJ 4" 2-Pack Batman. I mean I felt odd calling as I thought they might think I was trying to scam them. (I offered to send them pics) But they said no problem. It's great that they offer this and are so quick to help out, but it does kind of suck that I had to call about so many QC issues in a 40 day period. Here's hoping I don't have to call for a while.

Just put your figure in hot water and move the hip back and fourth, if it doesnt work try it again, it should loosen the hip up

If voucher requests get out of hand, Mattel will have to get stricter, start keeping a record of names and addresses, or just stop which just hurts those with legit problems.
I think Sideshow actually makes customers with damaged statues physically break them into unusable pieces, take a picture and then email the photo. Not sure if that's still policy.

PJ can correct me if I'm wrong but I think he referred to them as being "fused" together. Too much pressure and they will snap. I usually don't place my figures into such extreme poses. So I'm not going to worry too much about the old figures. But in the back of my mind I know the legs are unmovable which really annoys me. I'm so anal .

I just ordered 4 figs from Mattel and forgot E10 Morrison. They sent me a Morrison with free shipping after I explained what happened. Amazing.

Yes some of them aren't corrected when you heat/freeze them...It sounded like when Bill explained it sometimes when they are seeling to torso pieces together too much glue or something is used and it drips into the hip and fueses it together. (It was it one of the last 2 chats.) But I tried correcting it with the hot water and all that happened is Macho's leg snapped off. I'd still try the warm water first as the could still pop. But besides Macho I have 1 Legends 2-Pack Piper & Orton that both are like that and the water won't work. So I just display those 2 as is and don't fuss with them anymore.
