No mattel Punk has or will have b/c it is a registered trademark by the Pepsi company. So enless Mattel pays Pepsi it won't happen.

i wish they would just do it with inverted colors. Then people would jump all over Mattel for not making an accurate figure

It would be sick if Punk caught wind of this and payed the licensing fee himself so his figs would be accurate

Still say a red & blue ying yang would look close enough. That would actually work great. Mattel should do this.

I may be missing something obvious here, but why don't they let mattel use the logo? It's advertising for the company is it not?
Pepsi and hasbro could let mattel add the tats, and then pepsi and hasbro get advertising on every punk figure? Win win in the end, no?

Inverted colors would be much better than nothing at all. Also, I would really prefer for them to make some generic Cobra logo, as well.

I may be missing something obvious here, but why don't they let mattel use the logo? It's advertising for the company is it not? Pepsi and hasbro could let mattel add the tats, and then pepsi and hasbro get advertising on every punk figure? Win win in the end, no? First off, company's take their brand identity very seriously. Its not a matter of simply slapping your logo on everything imaginable. Pepsi-cola has whole departments of highly trained professionals managing the Pepsi brand and trademarks and additional departments to handle licensed branded merchandise. This is not a "free advertising" situation. When you have a brand as valuable as GI Joe or Pepsi, you maintain it through careful management. There is no particular reason to think this toy is even worth the brand dilution that would entail. Especially in the case of Hasbro. Even if they approved, they would not expect to pay for the "advertising", they would expect to be paid for the licensing. These logos have a value and are regularly licensed for use in merchandise like shirts, hats, etc. Mattel may not want to pay. But even if you did look at it as "advertising", that would just call into question Mattel's interest. Do they really want to deal with the PR hassle involved with soft-drink branding on a childrens' toy? There are people who will gladly make that an issue for them. Why would Mattel want to do that? Concerning other issues raised, inverted colors on the Pepsi logo pretty obviously can't work. The logo is symmetrical, so it'd just be an upside down Pepsi logo. Given that it would be inspired by a tattoo of an actual Pepsi logo, any stand-in would probably face a high level of scrutiny. Color swaps might not withstand a legal challenge. Indeed, a red/blue yin-yang might not, either. With trademarks, not being exactly the same just isn't enough. To say nothing of the complaints over the inaccuracies from collectors.
