AUGUST 16th, 2010 - LOS ANGELES, CA. [/b][/color] A recap video is shown of last night's Summerslam Pay Per View event. The RAW side is heavily highlighted here, with Randy Orton's DQ win and the aftermath shown, as well as John Cena's triumph over The Nexus with the help of Team WWE. The RAW intro video and subsequent pyrotechnics display then welcome us to the LIVE! feed of Monday Night RAW!
LIVE! IN THE ARENA: Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler welcome the WWE Universe to the show, mentioning that The Nexus has been vanquished, and unseen since the previous night's triumph. Then, John Cena's theme song plays, and the leader of Team WWE makes his way down to the ring to a good reception.
JOBS AND TITLE SHOTS: In the ring, Cena explains that he is so glad to be rid of The Nexus, the group that had hounded him off of the WWE Championship trail. Cena explains that now the seven have gone, he can re-focus on the WWE Championship he never should've lost. However, at this point, Edge interrupts Cena. Edge says he and Cena have never seen eye to eye, and quite frankly they probably never will, but he doesn't appreciate how John Cena is out here taking all the credit for beating The Nexus last night, and how he thinks it puts him in line for a title shot, when in fact all of that should fall at the door of one 'Rated R Superstar'. At this, Chris Jericho makes his way out. Jericho laughs at Edge, saying he understands how he feels about Cena, but to suggest he deserves the title shots isn't right. Jericho says that he eliminated just as many Nexus members last night as Cena, so where's his title shot? Then, the alert tone of the Anonymous RAW General Manager sounds, and Michael Cole stands up to read the email. He says that last night, Edge and Jericho put their own selfish vendetta before the safety of the WWE by assaulting a team mate, John Cena. He says as a result, they are not in line for title shots, rather punishments, and so tonight, they'll be in main event tag team action, with their jobs on the line! The crowd pops, as Cole continues, saying if either Jericho or Edge is pinned, submits, is conuted out, or disqualified, they will be fired from Monday Night RAW! He then says the opponents they will face are John Cena, and Bret 'The Hitman' Hart!
CALCULATING AND FORMULATING: Following a commercial break, Edge and Jericho are seen discussing plans for the main event tonight in the locker room. They say that they should take Cena out of the equation, and target Bret Hart, making it easy pickings. Edge then says he may not have got along well with Jericho this year, but he's damn sure got his back tonight. Jericho says he has Edge's as well, saying "RAW's elite" needs to watch out for one another.
1) TED DIBIASE & MARYSE DEF. R-TRUTH & EVE - These two pairs have been off and on rivals for a large chunk of the year with Truth and Eve coming out on top most of the time. The crowd knew what was up, as they were in the corner of R-Truth and Eve, but the crowd's support wasn't enough for the rapping superstar tonight, as the 'gold digger' Maryse assaulted Eve on the outside, distracting Truth and allowing DiBiase to move in and nail Dream Street for the win.
AN 'AWESOME' ARRIVAL: As RAW returns from another commercial break, the camera is in the parking lot, where a car pulls up, and Alex Riley steps out, before opening the door for his NXT Mentor, The Miz. Miz is still outraged at being usurped by Daniel Bryan the previous evening, and says if that 'runt of the litter, bingo hall main eventer' dares to turn up on Monday Night RAW, he'll show him the full force of the 'Awesome One's' wrath.
STILL TO COME: Jerry Lawler jokes that Daniel Bryan had better watch his back, as the 'American Dragon' will be here on RAW tonight, in his RAW debut as a fully fledged superstar! Plus, we'll see a Randy Orton speak about SummerSlam, and new WWE Tag Team Championships unveiled!
2) MELINA DEF. ALICIA FOX TO RETAIN THE DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP - Fox's automatic rematch clause failed to win her back the Divas Championship, as she ended losing out to Melina again here tonight, this time courtesy of the Sunset Split.
A PROPOSITION: Following the match, 'Co' Womens Champions LayCool appear to the crowds displeasure. LayCool say that last night, they simply wanted to re-affirm to all the WWE Universe who the most dominant diva's on the roster are, and thats the 'Simply Flawless' LayCool! Melina says that maybe LayCool should put their money where their mouth is, and challenges them to a unification bout, putting the Divas Championship up against the Womens Championship! McCool answers on behalf of LayCool, saying it's on! The crowd pops, as the commentators say after the break, we'll see Randy Orton speak about Summerslam!
THE VIPER'S VENOM: Upon the return from Commercial Break, Randy Orton emerges to a great pop from the crowd. When in the ring, the WWE's 'Apex Predator' explained that last night at SummerSlam, he could've won the WWE Championship, and would've had the current champion Sheamus not brought a chair into the mix, and got himself disqualified. He says that he wants what he is owed, a shot at the WWE Championship, and this time, no weasel tactics from Sheamus. Sheamus then makes his way out to the ring, saying he's no weasel, and that the only reason he brought the chair in was to beat Orton even worse than he had already. Orton laughs at Sheamus, reminding him that he won the match, meaning he can challenge again, and that he walked out, something Sheamus didn't do. Sheamus is about to say something, but the RAW General Manager now chimes in, saying Sheamus may not have meant to get disqualified, but he did, and therefore, he owes Randy Orton one last chance at Sheamus, but this time, there'll be no loopholes to escape through, as it'll be No Holds Barred, and next week, LIVE! on Monday Night RAW! Sheamus is up in arms, but not for long, as Orton drops him with an RKO, before lifting up the WWE Championship, posing for the crowd as a 'Don't Try This At Home' video featuring John Cena plays.
NEW TITLES, SAME OPPONENTS: As RAW returns, Jerry Lawler is stood in the ring, with a table and a cloth. He says tonight, he'd like to welcome the Hart Dynasty down to ringside to recieve the brand new WWE Tag Team Championships! The Hart Dynasty then make their way down to ringside, being handed a belt each by Lawler, about to make a speech before The Uso's make their way out to the ring with Tamina for the next match up.
3) WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE HART DYNASTY DEF. THE USOS AND TAMINA - An exciting intergender six person tag team match here, with both teams really giving the crowd a good show. It went back and forth for a while, before a mistake from Jey Uso left him open to be lifted by Hart Smith and held prone for the Hart Attack which gave the Dynasty the win.
DEBUTING DRAGON: Daniel Bryan was seen taping up his wrists in the locker room, as the commentary team put over his debut against another fan favourite and fellow member of Team WWE, John Morrison, was up next!
4) DANIEL BRYAN DEF. JOHN MORRISON - An excellent contest, undoubtedly match of the night, as Daniel Bryan really wanted to impress in his first one on one match as a WWE Superstar. Morrison didn't give him an easy time, and it showed as Bryan really had to work for the victory by keeping up with Morrison's fast pace, but the crowd enjoyed revelling in it the win with him, as the LeBell Lock was eventually what gave Bryan the win.
'AWESOME' ATTACKS: As Bryan celebrated his win, The Miz made his way out with Alex Riley, his NXT Rookie, clocking Bryan in the head with his Money in the Bank briefcase. Riley beatdown Morrison, as Miz screamed in Bryan's face that he was tired of being embarrased by him, and it was going to change!
FAMOUS LAST WORDS?: Backstage in the interview area, Josh Matthews is standing by with Chris Jericho and Edge. Matthews asks if they have any last words for the WWE Universe, to which Edge laughs, saying that they won't be needing last words, as they will be winning tonight. Jericho says nothing, but nods his head and smirks, as the commentators put over the main event match up with the two's job on the line against Bret 'The Hitman' Hart and John Cena is next!
5) BRET 'THE HITMAN' HART & JOHN CENA DEF. CHRIS JERICHO & EDGE - This one was your standard RAW Tag Team Match, though Cena did a lot of the work for his side, and was isolated for much of the match. Jericho and Edge worked well together, and looked like they were going to take the win Edge went for the Spear on Cena, but Cena dodged and Edge collided with the referee, taking him out of the picture! At this, Jericho went to get a chair, Bret Hart attempting to stop him but Jericho hitting him in the gut. Jericho then set up for a chair shot on Cena, but instead betrayed Edge, blasting him with a chair shot before leaving ringside! With Edge dazed, Cena lifted him up and nailed the AA, before tagging in Bret Hart who locked in the Sharpshooter for the crowd pleasing victory.
GOODBYE EDGE: Cena and Hart celebrated the victory, raising each others arms up, posing for the fans on the turnbuckles before leaving and slapping the hands of fans at ringside. Then, the 'Rated R Superstar' Edge began to come to, and the fans began to chant 'Na Na Na, Hey Hey, Goodbye!' at him, Edge blowing them all off, by shouting that he didn't care, heading backstage on Monday Night RAW one last time as the show closes.
