I really dig this figure too, I normally don't like 'legend like' basic figures but I had to buy this one

I Hate Basic Figures, But if they Threw in Some Legends with easy to make in Elite Form Figures in the Heritage series i would be down.

I'll go for the All Star as well. I like the white designs on the trunks. I like the yellow on Elite 9 too, but I prefer the first headsculpt.

I agree. I don't buy many basics, in fact every one has either been on sale or a mistake (in the end), but I dug this one and knew I had to make it better. Just the head and arms were swapped with an Elite 2 Orton. I love the crack and replace when it works. The only other change necessary was the top of the back tattoo needed to be removed. If more of these throwback figures come out, I will be all over it. At least as long as the throwback isn't just an old pair of tights.

In my opinion that torso is a little small

I just went by the torso. The current Orton Basic torso is the same as this older version's torso, so I just went and used the same Orton to Orton comparison.
I'll look and see if he really is noticeably different in the past. I'm always happy to make another custom!

Yes I love that figure. I had picked one up from RSC when they first received it and decided I needed to pick up about 4 more to swap the heads on the WalMart belt set, WMH1, WMH2 and my custom Elite. I found 1 yesterday at Target and popped it on the WMH2 figure.
