See you just said something that made me giggle that shows how people think. One of the main arguments is "They should use guys that have lots of color and detail to stand out more" yet everyone bitches because we dont get DDP. Guess what, look at all the polls where we've voted for DDP attire. Jeans, long hair mullet, rib tape.....Remind me again someone, how is that exactly detailed? Exactly! Its not, everyone that claims that crap is just as guilty as someone saying "I want Magnum" or "I want Tully" You truly dont care what the figure looks like as long as you get the guys you grew up watching.
Exactly, in the end people will want who they grew up watching but it is more likely that people who watched in the 90s are still interested in these figures than people from the 80s. Personally I never grew up watching Arn Anderson, Magnum TA, etc. The four horsemen I`m familiar with is Flair, Benoit, Malenko and Mongo. I know Bundy cause the Million Dollar Man brought him back in the early 90s in the NEW GENERATION era and because of flashback moments shown of his match with Hogan from Wrestlemania 3. I just feel that the older you get the less likely you are to collect. I suspect there are more 20 and 30 year olds than 40 year olds collecting hence the further back you go the less likely you are to have customers. I believe the Legends line suffered at retail from having too many guys from the 80s and not enough from the 90s, and by 90s I don`t just mean Attitude era but also WWF New Generation and WCW/NWO. Jakks line worked better because it started years ago! Even then the first line depicted some people that were more recent like HBK, Undertaker, Bret Hart, HHH, and mixed in Legends like Andre right off the bat. Had Mattel done the same combined with their more accurate sculpts then I believe the line would have been a hit. Looking at the list they have up at Bratty.com I really don`t see the line having too many legs beyond Andre and the Rockers. My hope is now in the Flashback Elites.
I think you pretty much nailed it

Its guys in their late 20s early 30s. More attitude era fans are Mid 20s and earlier. I was a prime age for the attitude era but I still prefer the Golden Era.

I want them all, so I don't really care that much who wins. I think it's funny that no matter who wins, half the people will be mad though. But whatever, I'm looking forward to the results, and I'm even more looking forward to when we get to see the prototypes for the winners

im 29 , i definetly prefer the golden age, and like a lot of legends that came before from flashback vids played on wwf long ago.... But i Never watched the nwa , awa or wccw.... I seen the wcw shows a few times as a kid but the only thing that really played on tv here was WWF. And usually WCW played the same time saturday mornings so i always just watched WWF.
I would Definetly buy the brainbusters but i dont think i ever seen them in a full match, actually the only 2 or 3 on the list of 17 i wouldnt buy are Savio Vega #1 Would never buy , 2 Magnum and maybe DDP

The older people have said if we dont get the figures we want, we're simply just not going to buy them. The younger ones are the ones that are saying "Oh is bull, if they dont release DDP and put out Magnum instead, the line is dead" which is completely silly.

I could give a poop less about DDP and by the hundreds of Jakks DDP figures i seen on shelves , im sure im not the only one. Nope, it is just you. Hundreds? Really, in your dreams? That sounded ridiculous. No store over stocks their selves of one figure out of its whole entire line... XD A couple years ago I saw over 20 of each those Jakks' Honky Tonk Man and Bob Backlund figures hanging there collecting dust on the selves and 2 Jakks' DDP figures, I purchased one of the DDP's of course. The DDP Jakks released has a bad sculpt it has a bad design too, they made his crappy "It's me, it's me" WWE smiling character. Not many were fans of that character, it was really awful. At least they did make that Deluxe WCW DDP, that one was perfect. Anyways, a DDP figure by Mattel will eventually get made. But if DDP is one of the lucky selected ones for this Matty Collector exclusive line, I expect Mattel to make the "Self-Hi-5" 1996 DDP (in purple and green, sunglasses, cigar and his bling-bling) or the 1999 Jersey Triad DDP in his verace sleeved shirt, sunglasses and T-shirt like he did when he had that match with Kidman on that Best of Nitro DVD. I won't mind if they make a DDP in denim jeans tucked in boots and rib-tape, as long as they include the WCW US Championship and his classic blue Diamond Cutter T-Shirt, I'd be satisfied. Also, a Mattel DDP figure with exchangeable hands... would be a huge, huge bonus.

Although I have the original Marlena fig that came w/ Goldust from back in the bone crunching action jakks days and she had a cigar in her hand lol Nobody will be satisfied completely at the end of this little poll from Mattel but I think at least one of the guys everyone voted for will get made be it DDP or Arn or whatever Personally... I am really only truly wanting Miss Elizabeth as a MUST... Macho man w/out her seems a shame IMHO. The rest of it I don't care cuz I will buy the ones I want and won't buy the ones I don't... Just hopin for the sake of Mattel that this poll doesn't destroy them lol

Hope the results are up soon. You cant vote no more. I'm going to get them all whoever picked as I want to build a real history of wrestlers display plus there all characters and have achieved things in the industry.
There's a few I'd like to do more research on but I know all. Savio Vega is the one Ive seen least of.
Really hoping Bundy gets his figure as Mattel does big men fantastic!
But I think I'll be sad for the ones who don't make it as I REALLY REALLY wanted more than 5 of them.

I'm hoping mostly for king kong bundy and crush. I would prefer kona or evil crush but I want a demolition crush too. I imagine kona crush may be a flashback one day. After those 2 I would take anyone but would really like the brainbusters, doink, farooq and one man gang. The only 2 or 3 figs I don't want are Magnum T.A , Savio Vega + possibly Tito Santana

I'm gonna be buying them all regardless of who they make.... but a Savio Vega figure? I really hope that doesn't happen. He is no Legend.

Prediction of who it will be: Arn Anderson Bundy Tully Blanchard Miss Elizabeth DDP or Magnum TA
When the Rockers go on sale in November, they will sell out quickly, and they will announce that Elizabeth will move into a 2-pack position with Macho Man, so they will fill the remaining spot with DDP or Magnum TA, whichever didn't quite make it the first time. The rest of the figs in the poll will show up in Flashback Positions in the Elite series.

Liz should be packed with Savage. It would be a great way for Mattel to milk a few extra dollars. Everyone wants Liz and you cant get enough Savage figures. Brain Busters should be a two pack with Jackets and WWF Tag Titles as well. That way if there is any doubt in selling Blanchard it will still go like hot cakes because its with Arn and has Belts. That technically could open up two more spots. Which at that point anyone could be filled in.

Of course everyone wants their picks to win, so there is gonna be some dissapointment. Really I would like to get all of those figures in the future. I'd be pretty happy if one of my fav 5's made it in.
