First and foremost I'm not trying to make excuses, Silva killed Okami and would have regardless. But I am still kinda dissappointed how he was greasing himself up before the fight to help with the TDD. Not looking for another grease-gate, but still...

haha....
he does that sh** before every fight since the whole GSP greasing thing....
I still believe he is trying to be subtle in his attempt at calling out GSP. Why would he blatantly grease in front of millions of people...?
Anderson is the p4p best. No question about it.

Honestly, if it were a big deal Dana or some other official would bring it up as an issue.

LOL Anyway, I just love how people were doubing Shogun and Nogueira at this event. Some people went on the old "Oh, he's a PRIDE guy, so he's overrated" argument, and others just went on the "They're too injured, and can't compete anymore at a high level". Do people honestly think losing to guys like Jon Jones (current LHW champion) and Cain Velasquez (current HW champion) makes the fighter "no longer able to compete"? Get real, people. I swear, MMA has become the "What have you done for me lately" sport. If you lose your last fight, EVEN IF ITS TO A TOP GUY/CHAMPION, you're done. HAHAHA.

I think people take the "what have you done for me lately" attitude towards things because a guy will loose and then it opens the flood gates to more losses and release from the UFC, people just loose faith in them. In addition when there performance looks awful much like Shogun's did people think he's lost it, plus he's been so frickin' up and down.

Ever thought of.... Maybe it showed just how good Jones is? That's disrespectful to both Shogun AND Jones.

I don't think Shogun looked awful against Jones. It was just a horrible fight for him.

Shogun attacked Jones more than any other opponent Jones has ever had.

Yeah it's just a sport and whatever but that's almost one of those moments that had me choked up. Big Nog getting a clean KO while his home-country crowd damn near riots in celebration after he was suppose to be a "done" and "just a stepping stone" for Schaubs career. It was a great night for Brazil, but don't forget Nog, Silva, and Shogun's other roots. PRIDE FC mother ers. Don't forget the name.

Love 'em or hate 'em, Sherdog can always be counted on to deliver the goods when it comes to post-event shoops.

Anyone got a Gif of that sweet dance Luiz Cane did after that right/left combo that lead to his knockout?

I've never heard a crowd so quiet after seeing Luiz Cane get knocked out. But other than that, the Brazilian's really put it to the Americans/Japanese in their home town.

Ever thought of.... Maybe it showed just how good Jones is? That's disrespectful to both Shogun AND Jones. Hmmm... I don't think it is, really - Shogun has a track record of injuries and the way Jones beat him... no-one knew for sure whether it was because he was suddenly declining, or if Jones was just that good. It appears to be the latter. I've read a few articles that say Nogueira should retire... what do you guys think? bleacherreport.com/articles/824076-ufc-134-results-minotauro-nogueira-should-retire?search_query=nogueira

at one point in the article it says...
"if he had faced cain velasquez, make no mistake, hed have been knocked out."
really? if he faced the best heavyweight in the division hed have been knocked out, and thats why he should retire? schaub is heavy handed, he was hurt at least twice, still battled through and knocked the kid out. i didnt realize that you have to be a world title contender to continue to fight... i guess that means everyone in the division except for velasquez and junior should retire.
terrible. no, he shouldnt retire. hell, id have no problems with him facing carwin or mir. or lesnar if he ever comes back.
[or all 4 of those names should retire, since none of them will likely beat dos santos or velasquez]
