I've received several emails from the mattycollector site asking me to subscribe before the Aug. 22nd. My question is, which subscription do I subscribe to?... All I want are the WWE mattel figs.

the MattyCollector exclusive WWE Legends figures are not part of any subscription program. They will just be put up for sale on certain dates.

They might send a reminder, but they already posted when heach figure will be up for sale. Normally figure go on sale Noon eastern on the 15th of the month of their release. But the Rockers will be on the 21st of Nov. So maybe they will release them all on the 21st to cut down on the traffic the site is hit with on the 15th every month. Either way I'd say check the site during every figure's month as they'll say coming soon with the date available. The Matty subscription is just for getting updates and such about the site, if I'm not mistaken.

The Matty subscription is just for getting updates and such about the site, if I'm not mistaken. No, they offer subscriptions for MotU, Ghostbusters, DCUC and Voltron(?) What the subscription does is makes it so you don't have to log on every month and order a figure. Your CC will automatically be charged 3 days before the "official release" for the cost of each figure + shipping and your figure will be sent. You don't have to deal with going onto the site, but you do have to get every figure in that subscription for the year. And you also get an exclusive "Subscription" figure that you can only get if you have the subscription. That's what you get for the $25 or $35 subscription membership fee. |

Yeah, I also signed up to receive their spam in case they add a WWE Legends subscription at the last minute. I'm afraid there won't be a subscription for 2012 until they test the waters and see how successful the line is, though. You'll still be able to buy the Legends from their site when they become available. You don't need a subscription for that. personally i'm most looking forward to DDP. as long as it has a serious/non-smiling headscan with a good likeness i'll get it. the rest don't interest me. hopefully the next poll will have more monday night wars era stars (especially wcw guys) and more stars who Jakks never made, since they are my main areas of interest

That almost sounds like a good idea. But what if someone wanted to buy a He-man on the 15th and WWE on the 21st. How would you ship? Would you ship separately or Wait until after the 21st to combine shipping or let the customer decide? It sounds like a smart and reasonable idea but we are dealing with Matty. Matty's head would explode. |

It's also going to depend on how many figures will be produced. For example, I bought a couple of SDCC exclusives on the 15th at Noon, as soon as they went on sale. It took me about 30-40 minutes to checkout. I would've been done in about 15 minutes but the "Place Order" button failed to load a couple of times and I had go back to "View Cart/Checkout" until I got through. By the time I was done, the most anticipated exclusive, the Ghostbusters Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, was sold out! In contrast, the figure I got, Blazing Sword Voltron (He's in my current sig!), was still available for almost a week before it finally sold out. So we'll just have to wait and see how it works out with the Legends line. Is there any news on how much these Legends figures will be and also how costly is the postage? This hasn't been confirmed yet but if you look through Matty's store, you'll see that the typical price for a figure is around $20. I'm guessing the shipping will be about $7-$9 per figure. I paid $12 to have 3 items shipped in my only Matty order to date. |
