I am a fan of the line! Especially the Legends and Elite! But it seems like Mattel came out like a bang in year 1 and backed off of what is a huge library of possible legends and different Elite figures, rings, and accessories. It's hard to figure out where the future goes here because of the retreat ... legends are heading to exclusive on-line! Many of the elite are redo's and as a FAN of Wrestling, a fan of Mattel I hope you show staying power and a future of what we can get. I remember I didn't buy the first LJN line until I saw other lines from LJN being made and saw where it could go! Then I bought all of the figures. I can't find Legends 6 anywhere! I would like to see 7 - 8 and 9 and it might pump people up as to the mass potential of the line. Just a thought I would share that.

They're not going to just keep putting out an unsuccessful line because a few dozen people online want it.

I disagree I think more than a few dozen people online want the line. I go in peoples homes for a living and there are so many you kids who have mixtures of legends with their current figs. The other day I saw a 4 year old had a Legends Kamala figure. I think the downfall was no one could really find the figures anywhere and the prices are a little high. Now I don't mind paying for it sometimes but a lot opf people will just stop collecting if they can't afford the figures. I know a few people who stopped collecting because they couldn't find the set in stores and they just coudn't afford Ringsides prices.

Ya def a lot more than a few dozen people lol
where i live in ontario we were swamped with legends 2 and legends 2 packs, and they are still around, legends 4 came in at both walmarts in huge displays and dissapeared in a week, in canada we only got legends 2 and legends 4 and legends 2 packs, also i only ever seen dm1
cant say legends ever had a fair chance
maybe mattel made too many lines, too quick and therefore stores couldnt afford to buy every line from them...

The other day I saw a 4 year old had a Legends Kamala figure. Probably got it for about $3, same as everyone else. The line failed hard at full price at mass retail.

Legends have been proven to be successful in the past with Jakks and other lines ...
Mattel made claims of being in this for the long haul and created a new scale size which was quite impressive. I put up my old Hasbro line to accomodate.
In reading the forum they had criteria of making a figure that I agree with. But in their attempt to be different than other companies they changed the tradiitonal look of some famous legends that did not serve them well early on.
Some of the decisions made were questionable. Was kids, buyers, and collector's happy with Jimmy Snuka's non traditional look? Or Sgt. Slaughter's non traditional army look? LOD's black football pads instead of the red? Hawk's no tongue? Bulldog's no braids? The selection of Brian Pillman so early in the process? I would say no to all.
My 9 year old is facinated with Old Kane, Papa Shango, Bossman, Doink, Yokozuna and old characters that were scary, tough and true characters. Therefore I think the move for Papa SHango and Kane is a great move. Hopefully they will create other character Legends figures that have name, kid appeal for their look, legends appeal from the older fans that collect.
I brought the topic up because one wonders after coming strong out of the shoot and showing a potential big future and retreating to on-line for Matty so soon is concerning. How many people will truly know about that retreat or location of the line? When are they up so I can actually order them? I am a fan and rooting for their success. I think having a poll of potential WWE Legends that are approved by WWE and can be ascertained by Mattel should be polled monthly to engage the people to see what they want. Tito Santana has himself or El Matador? More kids today would probably buy El Matador. Just some thoughts.
