I was doing a bit of work earlier today and I thought of this.....
of course this will feature a few "old reliables"but hopefully will throw out a suprise or 5.
here are mine in no particular order.
1)Steamboat vs Savage.cant exclude it-absolute brilliance really.end to end stuff
2)Bret Hart vs Mr Perfect from Summerslam 91.IMO better than the above match.
3)HHH vs The Rock-Ladder match @summerslam 98.some great innovations in the "ladder technique"here.also presented a great you didnt know who was gonna win vibe.
4)Razor Ramon vs HBK @wmx/Summerslam 95 in their Ladder matches.2 great encounters that Im listing under one match.
5)Bulldog vs Bret Hart @ Summerslam 92.an epic encounter
6)HBK vs Jeff Jarrett @ IYH II.a greatly overlooked match.
7)Razor Ramon vs Diesel @ Summerslam 94.hot crowd and great crisp action from these 2.
8)Bret Hart vs Roddy Piper @ WM8.absolutely LOVE this match.
9)RVD vs Benoit @ Summerslam 02-effin awesome outing.
10)Austin vs The Rock @ IYH:DX.just so unorthodox and honestly I marked out so bad when Austin drove to the ring and hammered the Nation.
someone is gonna list something that I missed but this is my list and Im sticking to it!!
what say you lads?

Sweet!! I like this idea. Though, I am not ranking them in order of importance, because I don't think I could pick one over another in this category.
1. Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon - SummerSlam 95 2. Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon - Wrestlemania 10 3. Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect - SummerSlam 91 4. Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog - SummerSlam 92 5. Edge vs. Randy Orton - Vengeance 2004 (which to this day was probably the last great IC Title match) 6. Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage - Wrestlemania 3 7. The Rock vs. Triple H - Fully Loaded 98 8. Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon - Paul Bearer's Hits From The Crypt Coliseum Video 9. Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat - Best of the WWF Vol. 9 Coliseum Video 10. Tito Santana vs. Mr. Perfect - SNME July 1990

Can't really think of any that haven't been mentioned already, but I think Perfect vs. Hart would be number one for me. Not only was the match good, but Heenan was just hilarious on commentary. Like when Monsoon said Stu was looking worried, and Bobby replied that was because he snuck in.
And on a side note from your list Joker, I was actually at IYH: DX to see Austin vs. Rock live. Was very entertaining getting to see D'Lo launched from the ring, onto the truck, live.

Too bad the IC title has become an after thought the past 8 years. Used to mean something in the early- mid 90s

Randy Orton was the last real legit meaningful IC Champion, and that was 2004. The last 7 years or so nobody has elevated it. But then, the guys Orton was fighting then were also main event style wrestlers like Edge, RVD, Booker T, Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels, Shelton Benjamin. The IC Champion now fights guys who you know won't ever be a main event star.

I agree that Orton was the last legit IC champ, but I think Shelton Benjamin's 1st IC title reign was the last meaningful reign w/ the title. He had a great run w/ the title for about 8 months, and put on some great matches w/ guys like HBK, Jericho, and Christian. Once Calrlito was given the title, its prestiege went downhill fast IMO.

fair point.
the IC strap was useless in mid 99 all through 2001 but in 2002 it regained its lustre if ya like with Edge,Benoit,Jericho,Christian,RVD,Guerrero etc etc all being in the mix.
after 2004 it became throwaway again and still is.

The thing is with the 2001 - 2002 era is that there was a lot of great men to hold that IC Title, the only problem was with it that the belt changed hands way too often. From August 2001 - October 2002 when they 'retired' it, you had Lance Storm, Edge, Christian, Edge, Test, Edge, William Regal, RVD, Eddie Guerrero, RVD, Chris Benoit, RVD, Chris Jericho, Kane and then Triple H all hold that belt. Yeah, that's a lot of amazing, great talent there, but no long title reigns which kills their mark in history for great IC Champions.
Shelton Benjamin did hold the IC Title around the same length of time Orton did, meaning 7 - 8 months long, but I always felt the talent Shelton faced wasn't anywhere near what Orton faced.
Orton faced RVD, Booker T, Mick Foley, Shelton of course, Jericho, and Edge. Shelton faced guys like Christian and Jericho (who were probably the only true test he had) and then guys like Maven, Simon Dean, and Carlito.
I also felt the kept the IC Title on Shelton so long, not because they wanted him to have a long reign has champion, but mainly because they didn't know who else to put the strap on.
