We are officially just 7 days away! So excited. Got the regular edition pre ordered, but will probably pick up one of the special ones down the line also. IGN review hits at 12:01am on Thursday, interested in seeing what they have to say. Gonna run through Gears 1 & 2 in the next few days ready for 3.
Excited is not the word.

i loved the first two so im definitely going to pick up 3 but im a little torn about what to expect. i haven't been paying too much attention to any info about it other than some opinions about the beta.
im interested to see how online multiplayer turns out this year. i loved the simplicity of the first one but it seemed to get away from that in the second. my friends and i would spend HOURS playing the first one after school, we'd get home and sign on right away; addiction was an understatement.

I've played 1 & 2 so much that I actually got really burnt out on them a couple of months ago, so I'm glad to be back playing them in time for 3. One of my favourite games to do online co op with.

I have yet to beat 1 on Insane, because Raam is the bane of my existence. 2 I think I got about three quarters of the way through. Hopefully I'll get them done eventually.

I'll get it.
But it's weird about GOW to me. I look at them, and technically they are good games. Good graphics, intriguing gameplay. But something about the series is flat to me. I can't get excited for it. I feel like I play it because I am supposed to, and it sort of feels like work. It's weird, because I don't really have a great reason why I feel this way.

You need someone to play co-op with, methinks. Seeing all of these incredible reviews for GoW3 is making very happy that I decided to just out-and-out buy it versus Gamefly-ing it first.

I played the whole first game in co-op, and about half of the second. It is more fun that way for sure. I hate the online multiplayer though. Horde mode is fun. I guess now that I think back on it, the story for 2 was kind of lackluster.

Re-played the first two not too long ago and can't wait to get the third one next Tuesday. I've pre-ordered the Epic Edition. I didn't like the first two online mulitplayers, but really enjoyed the Beta for the third one in April, so I might actually play online with this one alot.

The beta for 3 was pretty good, though the biggest thing it needs to prove to me is that it really does have skill-based matchmaking.

Why is this like the third Gears 3 thread we've had? I know I made one like a year ago when we were closing in on what was, at the time, 6 months to go. Oh well.
I got $60 left to pay on this. I'm getting the $80 Limited Edition, hopefully I will have enough to get the strategy guide as well, the collector's edition of that too. I got the LE and CE Guide when Gears 2 came out 3 years ago, so I'll get both with Gears 3 as well.
What version is everyone getting? Anyone dropping $150 on the Epic Edition?

I was hoping to get the Epic Edition, but in the end I just decided to go with the regular game. Partly because of the cost, partly because I don't have a lot of room for more stuff haha.

Can't wait for this game. This will be a homecoming for me because I originally got my 360 for Gears of War back in 2006 and it's what got me hooked on the Xbox.
I have to say the single player is what I'm looking forward to most but I'm hoping they bring back some of the creepy atmosphere of the first game in-between all that Michael Bay-ish action. I'm also so happy the berserker is back.
As for multiplayer I'm hoping it's different this time around and judging by the beta it seemed a little better. I always felt from the previous games that unless you were running around with a shotgun you stood no chance which I hated. I also never liked the fact that it always seemed like I was put against players who were way more skilled than me.

I have the epic edition fully paid for and hope it is as cool as it looks. I am still thinking about doing to the midnight release a gamestop to get the game as early as possible, but have to be to work by 7 am and won't be able to play any before work.
