Well before igo any further i did not mean my comment in a deminitive way, i know even the most plain looking mma fighter would kick my a$$ in a second lol, but to me as a casual viewer, i get most attrackted to fighters who have a distinct look, like just they're eye stare could kill you, y'know...aside from brock lesnar, i think randy couture had a great look on him, he had that don't-mess-with me-or-i'll-eat-ya-alive look on his face, chuck lidell always looked bad ass to me....guys like that is what i mean by looking the part, you could just tell they been through some battles and looked 'hard" Now guys like josh koschek (sp?) just doesn't do anything for me, he looks like the average punk kid around town acting tough, if i never saw him, and someone passed a photo of him to me and asked " what do you think he does for a living ?" cage fighting would be one of the last things that would spring to my mind honestly. Also, flabby guys...i don't mean everyone should be build like brock but c'mon, when i see someone with a gut stepping in the cage, i just lol and automaticly assume he's a lazy bum and don't expect much ( yes i can be proven wrong easily i know). to me mma is a very visual sport and looking like a bad a$$ does a lot to attrackt attention, looking like you just came out of high shool witha babybace does not, no matter how skilled you may be. MMA is a sport, just because Roy Nelson is a fatty doesn't mean he's not a bad ass who puts on entertaining matches. Looks mean nothing in MMA. Now see, that's exactly what i was saying, i KNOW looks don't mean a damn thing in mma, having a six pack and 24 inch pythons mean jack sh*t in a mma fight but i shamefully admit i'm one of those peeps that probably focuses too hard on looks...maybe being a pro wrestling fan for so long and being used to walking talking comic book characters has jaded me i dunno, but huys like Roy just do not catch my attention at all. it's essentially the same in pro wrestling for me tho, i respect every single one more than words can describe, but at the end of the day the ones that look amazing or unique are the ones who catch my attention, hypotheticly speaking, if you'd put a boogeyman, and a daniel bryan next to each other and ask me which one of those 2 guys looks like he belongs in the ring as a pro wrestler ( keep in mind i supposedly know nothing about them, never seen them before) , well i'd be a hundred times more excited to see what the painted up, big muscled guy can do Offcourse i know full well that that is wrong on so many levels and yes many of my favorites are "plain looking", but in the same token, whenever the next batista or bobby lashley type comes walking in, instead of going "oh nozz not another goldberg blaaah" like most of the iwc, i'm still that guy that gets giddy with excitement thinking "wow he looks awesome i sure want to see him wrestle !!" So back to mma, yes looks mean nothing but it's good luck trying to pick my interest when you look like a sack of potatoes

I know this is a few days old now, but I am bumping this with good reason. Here is CM Punk's thoughts on what Triple H said.
"Triple H just doesn't get mixed martial arts. he doesn't watch it either," said Punk. "Saying the UFC needs to evolve, I guess he's not wrong, but I think he's missing the picture that UFC is evolving. There's only one other sport entity in the world that has production rights to their own material on network and that's the NFL. UFC has just bartered a huge deal [with FOX]. That's evolution."
"I think that's absolutely insane," Punk said. "Any human being, any business, any sport needs to constantly evolve. I'm not a big football guy, but look at the NFL, they're constantly evolving -- whether it's good or it's bad, they're evolving. And if you don't evolve, you die."
"I wouldn't say [MMA has] 'hurt' us, I think that might be a little harsh of a term, but to deny that UFC is our competition is a little ridiculous," Punk explained. "Cirque du Soleil is our competition. Mad Men and Breaking Bad is our competition . I think everything that people spend their time on and their money on is our competition and to blatantly say that mixed martial arts has no barring on what's good or bad in our business, is silly; it's close-minded. You're putting a band-aid on a gunshot wound."
"Pro wrestling as a whole in my opinion has a lot to do to get to where I would like it to go," Punk said. "I think the people who discredit mixed martial arts in pro wrestling have very antiquated ideas and honestly, I think it's an education thing. I've had many conversations with Triple H about mixed martial arts, and he just doesn't get it. "
"It's funny, because pro wrestling many people don't get, and there's an old saying, "Pro wrestling is religion. They're very similar in regards that if you're trying to explain to somebody who doesn't get it, there is no explanation that will get them to get it. But someone who gets it, there is no explanation needed. It's just very black and white. "
"UFC is entertainment. WWE is entertainment," Punk said. "And regards to people spending their money on it, it's definitely a competition. I think the way things are in our economy, there's a billion pay-per-views between UFC, [other MMA pay-per-views] and the WWE, we're competing for each other's dollars, absolutely."

^^ I'll admit that's well put. He makes a good point without sounding like a condescending prick too which is nice.

Jakks UFC is also outselling Mattel WWE. WWE may be geared towards Little Jimmys now, but Big Jimmys who used to watch WWE are now watching and spending money on UFC and thats a fact. How many times are you gonna say this? And still have no proof to back that up. I can't link them, but I can remember at least 5 threads where I've seen this reply, or very similarly worded replies, from you. Yet you offer nothing to back it up. Oh your claim to work as some sort of accountant for Jakks. I'm not bashing you and saying you don't or calling you a liar, it's just easy to say "Jakks UFC is outselling Mattel WWE. That's a fact". But it's another thing to say that, and then have the numbers to prove it. I seriously doubt that Jakks ANYTHING is outselling Mattel WWE. Everywhere I go [and oh yeah, bitches always know ] but everywhere I go, I see WAY MORE UFC anything than I do Mattel WWE anything. Maybe in certain markets, Jakks UFC is selling better, but I can guarantee you not every single market that there is, is Jakks outselling Mattel. That - even without numbers - I can say is fact. Maybe you should worry more about your crappy Phillies than Mattel's declining WWE sales figures.

No not really. Both were 100% spot on. Oh sure the first guy made a good point. That other fool just mumbled some old s*** that I can only assume was supposed to 'BURN!' Vince, Triple H and the WWE. Wow. If this thread is to become a [bash the WWE, UFC is so much better thread], take it over to the board for UFC.

Wow. If this thread is to become a [bash the WWE, UFC is so much better thread], take it over to the board for UFC. "The old fool" happens to be Dana White, who helped build the UFC organization from the ground up and is one of the most intelligent sports promoters alive today. I guess calling him a fool was suppose to "BURN!" him for "insulting" Triple H. Wow. What he said was 100% true, HHH talked out of his ass and needs to pick and choose more carefully. He's not a Joe Schmo on a toy forum, he's an internationally recognized superstar, and from the story he's been involved with, is now to be recognized as a "business man" too. Everything he says on record is going to be read and interpreted by millions of people, so just as quickly it's going to be misinterpreted by millions if worded poorly. As far as "The old fool" goes, he has a fantastic working relationship with both Vince and the WWE. bleacherreport.com/articles/775278-dana-white-meets-vince-mcmahon-ufc-president-and-wwe-chairman-in-ctOn going head-to-head with Raw back in January 2010 - www.mmamania.com/2010/1/13/1249969/ufc-fight-night-20-ratingsIt helps to be a tad educated on what you're trying to argue before actually trying to argue one way or the other. Just saying.
