This doesnt even need that much of a discussion. More people buy UFC PPVs than WWE PPVs.
When your PPV buys are drastically down and you run your business on a PPV standard, then who needs to evolve?

Ok ok so i'm not an mma expert but i will give you my opinion on why i'm not into it....i "like" mma to a certain degree but can not get emotionally attached enough to become a follower, and man, i try'ed, again, and again....
i didn't use to watch it at all untill suddenly it seem to become interwined with pro wrestling and many fans liking both,so i gave it more attention, but got bored very fast.
maybe because i've been a wrestling fan for so long it's hard to get involved in such a real, straight forwared set up ? i dunno it's just boring and hard to get into, sure there are those awesome ko videos on youtibe and best moments highlights and i get excited and want to see more, only to discover time and time again those moments are few and far...
so yes i agree with HHH, ufc is too bland, they all just come out with ungly shorts with sponsor logos plastered all over, most of them not even looking that tough aside from some few,and it's just too...bare bones....to be spectacular, i'm not saying guys should wear lucha masks or get pyro but SOMETHING....i used to see old pride clips on youtube with some amazing entrances and it immediatly caught my attention way more then ufc, fights seemed to be more brutal too.
the thing is, i love mma inspired movies, undisputed 2 and 3 , blood & bone, even some cheesy c level movies like street warrior, i really love watching them, and it makes me want to see more mma afterwards, untill i go online and look up some videos and get dissapointed again and fall asleep.
i respect mma/ufc, but it IS just too bland to be attractive to me, only guy i religiously follow is brock lesnar deu to his pro wrestling past and the fact that at least he looks tough and gets people riled up, everyone should be like that it would be a whole lot more entertaining

Lol @ some of the replies about "how MMA is boring".
Professional wrestling is boring. It's just two guys in underwear flipping around and pretending to kick each other for 10 minutes before one hits some fake "super flip" type move and pins the other.
See what I did there?

1. I hate that comparisons are being made between WWE and UFC all the time when they're nothing alike. WWE doesn't need to evolve to compete with UFC because they are totally different animals. 2. CM Punk (rather, Phil Brooks) gets on my nerves. Everytime you read something he's said, it's some negative s*** about the company he works for. Why doesn't he just leave? In regards to number 2, is it still real to you dammit?

WWE and UFC ARE two different things, but at the same time, they are in indirect competition to one another, specifically PPV buys, which both companies earn a lot of their revenue from.
Obviously UFC has been annihilating WWE in PPV buys, so they must be doing something right. Let's face it, many pro wrestling fans have made the crossover to MMA. Like I said in the past, UFC took over the18-34 male demographic, so even though they are different things, UFC is still a threat to WWE and I think they know that.
Here's a pretty good vid with Paul Heyman speaking on UFC vs WWE.

That Heyman interview was very interesting.
WWE [Vince mainly] should really try to change their ways.

I guess there is a bit of competition between the two.

What a redundant argument.
They're nothing alike.
While we're at it we should pressure WWE to evolve more like golf and vice versa.

Considering his 'character' on television is supposedly based on the real guy, all he ever does is moan about being held down for years. As much as I like him, he annoys me sometimes.

Well before igo any further i did not mean my comment in a deminitive way, i know even the most plain looking mma fighter would kick my a$$ in a second lol, but to me as a casual viewer, i get most attrackted to fighters who have a distinct look, like just they're eye stare could kill you, y'know...aside from brock lesnar, i think randy couture had a great look on him, he had that don't-mess-with me-or-i'll-eat-ya-alive look on his face, chuck lidell always looked bad ass to me....guys like that is what i mean by looking the part, you could just tell they been through some battles and looked 'hard" Now guys like josh koschek (sp?) just doesn't do anything for me, he looks like the average punk kid around town acting tough, if i never saw him, and someone passed a photo of him to me and asked " what do you think he does for a living ?" cage fighting would be one of the last things that would spring to my mind honestly. Also, flabby guys...i don't mean everyone should be build like brock but c'mon, when i see someone with a gut stepping in the cage, i just lol and automaticly assume he's a lazy bum and don't expect much ( yes i can be proven wrong easily i know). to me mma is a very visual sport and looking like a bad a$$ does a lot to attrackt attention, looking like you just came out of high shool witha babybace does not, no matter how skilled you may be.

MMA is a sport, just because Roy Nelson is a fatty doesn't mean he's not a bad ass who puts on entertaining matches. Looks mean nothing in MMA.

When WWE surpasses UFC in buy rates than HHH can talk. Until then, off hypocrite.
