This comes up numerous times in there chat / q/a sessions. The two things I saw this time: any plans to make any of the spinner belts spin? A: no to small news flash the new us title with cena spins and that's the smallest belt yet. So that was a clear lie.
Or contridict themselves one question to the next? How the flashback guys aren't tied down to having to be under legends contract or on the current roster.... Then to say " no earthquake won't be made he's not currently under the legends contract.... Huh? You just said figures done under the flashbacks don't have to be under contract... They just have to get the ok.
I take these q/ a sessions with s grain of salt.
My resolve for mattel if you don't know don't answer. If your not familiar with your own product , don't answer. I can't wait to see these guys at ringsidefest and bust there chops about this and other subjects.

By "Under contract" I think they mean under a current WWE contract. They need to be under a Legends agreement or signed exclusively by Mattel with permission off WWE to use them in a line.

Theyve already got a wwe title mold, and would have to edit it to make it spin. What for? so it can come with like 2 figures? they made it so it doesnt spin for a reason, because its been like that for 4? years now

A little confused so let's use Earthquake for example. John Tenta has passed away so he would not be under contract but Mattel could get the rights from the WWE to use his likeness for either a legends or flashback figure?

I don't think they're contradicting themselves, It's more a case of you misinterpreting what they are saying. Like the above poster said; they are not restricting the Flashbacks to people whom are under Legends deals. The Legends line was restricted because Vince didn't want his current roster featured in the Legends line.
I'm no apologist, but Mattel takes a lot of flack for things they don't deserve flack for.
As for the spinner; again, a poster above has it nailed. Why the hell would they make a new spinning belt for a single release? The most important thing for Mattel is to release a current spinner that represents the here and now... That belt doesn't spin.

John Tenta has passed away so he would not be under contract but Mattel could get the rights from the WWE to use his likeness for either a legends or flashback figure? More or less. Earthquake probably passed on a new deal, hence why they can't use him. A lot of the time these decisions are out of their hands. Everyone needs to remember that Vince has a huge say in what is produced... Look at how Mattel had to fight for the belts Big Show came with as an example.

I think what they meant by being too small is the part on the WWE championship that spins is just the logo. Whereas on the Word Life US title, the whole center plate spins. The tiny logo vs. the entire center plate is what they were probably talking about. And as stated the title hasn't spun for quite some time, since Cena got injured and Orton was awarded the title.

Earthquakes family or whoever owns his likeness would have to sign a contract with WWE or Mattel to make his likeness. As for the belt as someone else said the logo may be too small to make spin while the US title the whole thing spins. so no they didn't lie, just be grateful they take the time out of their day to answer our annoying questions.

The quote was "will any belts spin" he said no to small . The part that spins on the us belt is SMALLER than the wwe center plate . What the heck is the argument something that isn't true is a.....lie. Someone who tells m a lie is a ..... Liar. Not tge first time btw. But y'all keep drinking the coolaid.

Will earthquake get a figure sometime this year?
No. Not under WWE Legends contract anymore.
and then later stated: Re: Ask Mattel Your WWE Line Questions! 9/6 Post by joesgonnakillu on Sept 10, 2011, 7:51pm
Can you give us some ideas on how you choose which legends get into the elite line. Besides the obvious "big name" people, is it a look (like pap shango), or is there a "check list"?
Part look, part significance, part can we sign him/her. Part will WWE let us do them. Part will we sell enough.
BTW says nothing about the wwe legends contract, hence the contradiction. So bollocks to that!
