I know this has come up many, many times before but... would you count the Diva figures as Basic or Elites?... I have always thought of them as Elites but then why would they be included in the Basic line ups? A few noticeable differences would be that they don't have the double jointed knees or the wrist joint but then they feature other similarities that the Elite collection do have. Also do we think the Legends Miss Elizabeth will have any differences to the 'Basic' Divas or a completely different mold?

I'm guessing that the Elizabeth will be completely different. The Legends line is elite, so they can't expect someone to pay an elite/legens/online exclusive price for a basic styled figure. But it is a tough call, because like you said, the divas have so many differences.

It will be the same as the others. I wouldn't want it have all the Elite articulation anyway. A double jointed knee on a diva, that isn't wearing knee pads, would probably look horrible.

I've always considered the divas as elite also...I just figured MATTEL was worried they wouldn't sell at basic prices so they only include them at 1 per case so they definitely wouldn't sell at elite prices

Being that she is in a dress, why would she need double jointed knees? I don't imagine the majority of the people buying her, plan on having her "wrestle", so why bother with the added articulation if it could potentially make the figure look bad?

It's going to be the same Diva mold but just with a dress is my guess.

I consider them both. I posted a thread a couple months ago asking the same question.

Divas are their own type of figure, a hybrid between Basic and Elite. I like that they're included in the Basic series because they're cheaper and get a higher chance of being produced that way. We wouldn't have gotten repaints of Beth and Melina if they were in the Elite series. It's nice that the Divas fit in so nicely with the Elite collection, though, since they don't look like regular Basics.
I wonder if Miss Elizabeth will have a newer Elite body for the Legends series. It would make sense so that it justifies the premium price we'll be paying for the Matty Exclusives. Otherwise, we'll pretty much be paying the DM price for a Basic figure. Also, it would allow Mattel to start making Elite Divas. An Elite Elizabeth body could serve as a base for future releases like Flashback Trish, Lita, Sunny, etc.

I've always considered them pretty much Elite. I hope they come up with something different and special for Liz as much as we're going to have to pay for her.

I don't think they would bother with an entirely new body mold just for the divas that will (potentially) be produced in the legends line. Especially when they can just produce additional parts for the existing body that can be re used in the regular line. I expect Liz to debut bare calves/high heels and I hope the dress is rubber and not fabric. That CS28 Sherri looked like crap and the dress was a mess.

I've always considered them to be more Elite (than Basic)... Mattel might not think they'd sell at the higher Elite price, unless they included a LOAD of accessories as well.

Confirmed in the last Q&A Plus, if anyone can do a dress a properly, it should be Mattel. I hope they brought in some of the Barbie people to help them out.

Love the look of the Vickie Guerrero figure, she looks brilliant. I'm also guessing the Miss Liz will be exactly the same as other divas...

Yeah she would need to be the same (basicly) as other Divas but I still would'nt be suprize to get a different mold but it will be in the same style as the other Divas I'd expect. Over all I'd say there both Elites and Basic's
