In 2 weeks my brother will be graduating from police academy and becoming a cop.I was invited obviously but debating on if what i decided to wear is to dressy. That's what i decided to wear except the black tie will be blue so whatcha think ?

You could definitely get by with less. But as long as you aren't wearing a full tux, I don't think anyone will really think twice about what you are wearing.

Not full but my brother joked saying that white shirt makes you look like a butler lol.

I think it is the vest more than the shirt that makes you look like you are part of the serving staff.

Looks fine to me, although I agree with TRW the vest makes you look more like your part of the servering staff then the shirt. But I dont think people would care what you wear anyways.

I wore t-shirt and jeans to my brothers graduation so no worries about being casual.

They're police men...Definitely gonna be dressy/undressy. It's hard to tell.
I'd lose the tie and vest though.

I have never liked wearing suits. on my middle and high school graduations my mother played the guilt card on me..so I had no choice. XD
maybe some black jeans and white dress shirt..
