My work in progress Owen Hart. Its not 100% accurate but was able to make it out of parts that I already had. Still got some work to do. I'm thinking about painting the legs of the singlet down onto the tops of the thighs. Also he's got a small gap between the hips and thigh pieces, its nothing major but enough to bug me. I was gonna make him using a basic Santino but was having trouble acetoning the tattoos off. That and I didnt like how far the singlet went down on the sides.

Looks GREAT so far! That's a magnificent start. I'd pick up a set of Jakks Bret glasses (maybe they'd be a bit big?). Covering the eyes would help differentiate this from Heath. Honestly, I think the HHH hair works perfectly (even unpainted). I would throw a VERY light shadow on and would bring the shorts down on his thighs. The boots will need some painting, remove his wristbands, and I think you're as close to what Mattel would make as possible. In my opinion, you currently hold the Owen Hart likeness, title.

I think I've got a set of the Jakks Bret glasses somewhere, just gotta find them. I'll probably start on the boots and legs today. I may leave the wristbands, I know Owen didn't wear them regularly, but I do remember a couple of matches where Owen was wearing white tape. If it was for an order, I would definitely take the wristbands off, but this one will probably stand on my shelf with my other Mattels. I'll decide for sure after I get the rest of the painting done. I can't take full credit for it, I remember seeing in a post sometime last year someone had mentioned using a Slater head for their custom. So I thought I would try it on mine as well. Thanks! ellisd are you going to put any $ into parts on this? bc I've got some idea's that might help your outstanding start I think I've got the parts that I'm going with, as the only figure I bought for the custom was the Bret and I've already got an idea for the remaining Bret parts. But would like to hear your ideas. [/a]
I absolutely ❤ this. I will buy this if its for sale on ebay. Great works on the head!
Thanks! I don't think this one will be up for sale. I started thinking the other day that out of all the great figures Mattel is giving us, I don't think we'll ever see an Owen. And thats sad. So I decided I needed to make an Owen to fill that hole in my collection. If I came across the parts for reasonable price, I would make another. I love your signature by the way. Great '97 collection!

Would a Basic Swagger with a JAKKS Kurt Angle be accurate height-wise? If not how could I fix it?

Would a Basic Swagger with a JAKKS Kurt Angle be accurate height-wise? If not how could I fix it? I don't own a basic Swagger fig. But I am in a WIP making an Elite Angle with TRU WM Swagger, I am making him shorter by switching Swagger's calves with a shorter ones (terry funk would work).

Is it noticeable that the height is off or is it close? If it's close enough I'm just gonna stick with it and not care too much about it.

SGguy The Axe pretty much nailed it. I was going suggest finlay thighs because the thighs you have are kinda bulging a bit and the finlay thighs will already have the bottom of the singlet molded onto them and the skin tone will match

I'm using Miz's thighs cause its the only bare legged figure I have available for parts. Finlay would look better though.

Elite 26 Big E Langston with Elite 16 Zeke arms & undertaker cuffs (still need too acetone tattoo) Shoulders are way too small for those arms. You should have changed the shoulders too.

I did the same thing with my Big E, but I switched out the forearms. I'm no expert like Powers of pain, but I think the shoulders are the same size as Zekes. Maybe he can take a comparison photo to back up his statement. Attachment Deleted
