I'm going to try a torso swap tomorrow and I want to make it as clean as possible. I've heard if you soak the figures in hot water for sometime, they will pop apart without needing to cut anything. Has anyone had success with that? How long to you microwave the water and how long do you soak the figures?

microwave a large cup of water about 4 minutes, when it boils in the microwave is long enough.
immediately dunk your figure in the cup and soak the figure about 4-5 minutes. sometimes it'll just pull apart because the hot water can melt the glue..... smells very toxic when you do.... have fun with it . Ive managed to get every peice on the figure apart clean from melted glue, just when it starts to give you resistance, then reheat and have at it

Then I put the figure in and check in on it after like 3 minutes. I put a screwdriver in and see how it's coming apart. If it comes apart easy I continue. If it's still glued in pretty good I leave it in longer. The lower part of the torso is often where I have the most problems.

Thanks for the split torso tricks guys.
Is it hard to reseal the figure to avoid that split gap? I used to do that with Jakks figures. Sometimes I could seal it back up without it looking any different and then others had pretty significant gaps.

It can still close and hold but since I can't push that little piece back in, there's a slight gap. As long as the one major peg doesn't break ull be good.

I just tried it, and worked perfect. I had to reheat it once I got the top part of the torso off, to loosen up the lower torso, but it made it so much easier... THANKS! Just swapped E11 Punk's torso onto E6's blue trunks. *Pics* First try (Terry Funk torso):Using the boiling method (E11 Punk torso):AND.....MC PUNK! (Michael Cole Punk)

^ so once you dunked it in boiling water for 5 mins, you can just disassemble the torso without using any tools? wow. I might try this.

I've always been scared to crack the Elite 11 Punk torso. Bulldog has to be the hardest torso I've ever cracked. Always have trouble cracking his torso. Only got it right twice.

My Kmart has like 6 Legend Funks on clearance for super cheap... now that I can do a decent torso swap, I might go get a few to fix Elite 8 Edge.

** do not dunk the figure in boiling water. Boil water in the microwave then take the cup of water/bowl etc out of the microwave and dunk the figure in the "boiled" water.
if you dunk your figure in boiling water, the bubbles/steam/extreme heat can cause loose limbs and you dont want that

What about basics? Just the Same method? It's the same method but a lot tougher in my experience. I think it's because you are dealing with one long piece rather than two short pieces. Anyway, here's some new stuff and a WIP. First is Bully Ray. It's a Sgt. Slaughter body with HHH legs, random arms, and a Jakks head. The chain isn't attached so it comes off easily. It's just tucked into his pants. The gear is from Ralph. Next is Abyss. It's a Jakks head on a Vader body with Big Show calves and boots. The gear is from Ralph but I'm not sure which shirt I want to keep on him now. Opinions? Next is Mankind. I actually posted this a while back as Cactus Jack. The cool thing about this is that I can switch back and forth between Cactus Jack and Mankind whenever I want. Finally, here is a Jerry Lawler WIP. I still have to get a singlet from Ralph and acetone the back and shoulder hair. It's pretty much a basic head and arm swap. I liked the George Steele body because the tights were already painted and he has a lot of chest hair.
