He deserves it. I love the hipchecks, that wasn't a hipcheck. The one thing that I get annoyed is the amount of fines; they're like parking tickets for NHL players. You saw Kobe get fined $100,000 in NBA for calling somebody a homosexual while the same thing happens in NHL, you get a measly $2,500 fine. The League is slowly working on this. Marchand is losing $150,000. Oh I know that, I'm talking about minor things, that's not related to hitting and concussing people. I'm talkin about the whole thing with Sean Avery and Wayne Simmonds where one called another a homosexual, got a slap on the hand with a measly fine.

Really, Penguins? Really? The Ottawa Senators? Really? They're not the same push over team they were in the beginning of the season...take it from me.

Couturier's patience with the puck is unreal. Can only hope this kid stays healthy, he's ridiculously smart out there.

Anybody having a bit of a chuckle at the All-Star rosters?
Twitter is like falling apart at the seams with the snubs.

Well, James Neal and Jamoir Jagr most certainly come to mind.

These sloppy third periods are really getting annoying. Every time I think Bob is going to cruise to a shut out the defense quits on him. Still a hell of a game for him.

Also I'd add Hartnell to the list of snubs.
And I can't help but laugh at the insanity that is Montreal right now.

Wings beat the Coyotes in a shootout via a slick Forsberg-esque move by Hank. Jimmy got his 100th career win and Babcock's 400th win as our coach. Fun night
On a cooler note, it was bobble-head night tonight and Cleary was the bobble-head. When they were doing the voting for it during the summer Cleary promised he would sign everyone's bobble-head if they voted for him. So tonight I brought a sign that said "hey Cleary, sign our bobble-heads please. you promised." He saw it during warm-ups and starting laughing.
After the game, we waited for him outside the arena and he drove right up to where we were and signed our bobble-heads first. Coolest thing ever lol and Definately made my night.

The Calgary executives must seriously be laughing their asses off right now. Not only did they dump off Borque, but they managed to get Cammallari in the process. I can imagine how that conversation went down.
Canadiens: So, is there anyone you'd be interested in trading?
Flames: **snickering in the background** How about Cammallari for Borque?
Canadiens: Deal.
Flames: **sound of water spitting from the executives mouth** Are you serious bro? **in the background, someone shouts out comments about the Canadiens executives being drunk**

I love Brad Marchand, and I'm the biggest Bruins homer on this planet. With that being said, the hit was way too low, and it resulted in an injury. You can't play like that. 10 seconds prior to the clipping, it shows Salo and Marchand in the same exact position along the boards, and Marchand goes shoulder to shoulder with him. It wasn't like Salo was flying at him either, he wasn't going to crush him. It was dumb and I feel like it cost them the game. With all that out of the way...Ballard did the same thing to Campbell in the second period. Got low and shot his hips into his knees. Not even a penalty called on the play. I know for years that you've been pretty damn loyal to the B's - that statement that you just made? You're a very VERY mature Bruins fan that I ever met, seriously. Other B's fans that I've talked to about this hit, so immature. I agree with you in every aspect of the hit. I've met alot of hockey fans, and man some of them are just very, well, how do we say it? Idiots. Aw, thanks kemp. There's definitely a ton of immature fans out there who'll blindly defend their favorite team/player just to "be on their side", you know? It's silly to look at things that way, I can't stand it. Cammallari being sent to a hotel in Boston after the second period of the game tonight and then getting word of being traded is insanity. Shouldn't have called his team a bunch of losers, eh?

Montreal Canadiens has a history with players that speaks up. So I'm not surprised that Cammy got traded but I am surprised that he got pulled during the game, sent to a hotel in a cab, and didn't know where he was being traded to.
However, that said... Montreal Canadiens vs Washington Capitals on Wednesday? It's going to be real ugly, you can expect that the Caps will get some payback on Bourque for taking out Backstrom. Can't wait to watch the game. Caps is my favourite team.
As for the ALL STAR Game, some players will ask their GM quietly not to be in. Thats why you don't see alot of players on the list. Lidstrom is one, but he asked for the week off. Older players, for sure like Teemu, Jagr, Lidstrom, and more. Every team has to be represented. It's just like Anaheim, they didn't have a rookie to send so they sent Corey Perry.
Don't overreact on the All Star game, it's a no-contact game and it's just ridiculous. We only watch The Skills Competition, and that's it.

Perry got sent because Teemu pretty much told the Ducks to.

One person was arrested from the fight after the Winter Classic. Turned himself in this morning.
30-something scumbag from Jersey who had already had several counts of drug possession against him.
