I think it is a pretty good trade but I never saw that coming. The way i see it, Hodgson was never gonna take over the centre spots from henrik or kesler. kassian is as crawford described him, a "Rumbling Bull". He fills a void that realistically, Cody couldn't fill. Cody was being underused, and would've been for the forseeable future.

Wow, what a crazy day, the Sabres never used to do anything major at the deadline. I thought they would be satisfied with just trading Gaustad for a 1st round pick but then this blockbuster deal with Vancouver comes out of nowhere.

Hodgson pretty much having to wait out Kesler and Henrik for top 6 centre puts the brakes on his development, but I can't help to feel that Kassian's presence will be more of a short term solution, where as Hodgson would have been the (long-term) future...

It really depends how Kassian develops, but I'm definitely heartbroken right now.

I'm hoping Commodore does well in Tampa, he deserves to have a shot at playing. In the meantime we call up Brendan Smith Very disappointed Holland didn't secure another foward for us. Hopefully that doesnt come back to bite us during the Playoff's

Kind of disappointed the Blues didn't acquire some offensive talent before the trade deadline. I understand that what we have right now is working real well, but adding a good forward to help out with scoring would have been fine. Also sad to see Ben Bishop go, but this obviously wasn't the best place for him. He'll have a shot at starting in Ottawa.
