I love how everyone is pissed that Sidney Crosby's getting so much coverage. The best hockey player in the world just came back for the second time from what was at one point considered a career ending injury, and people are surprised/pissed that he's getting media coverage. Hell, I was watching the game today and I only heard Crosby's name mentioned a handful of times when he didn't have the puck. If people want to get pissy about that, then they need to throw fits when Sedin, Stamkos, Ovie, Malkin, Giroux, Jagr, Thomas and Chara's names are mentioned...because very rarely do I hear an NHL telecast without their names being mentioned also. And no, I'm not this peeved because I'm a Pens fan. I've had this argument with Rated R, Pepsi and fattic over the years. He's the best player in the league right now. I'm sure it was this bad when Lemieux and Gretzky were playing a long while back. So he's the posterboy. The NHL has had a few of them over the years. Sure he dives sometimes. I can't watch a Canucks game without seeing the twins purposely eat ice. Sure he complains to the refs when sh*t goes south. I've seen Ovie want to literally strangle refs every game because of bad calls. Sheesh...the Sid hate pisses me off so much. If you're going to hate on Sid, hate on the other big names that are shoved down our throats. I'll give the NHL credit, it wasn't nearly as bad as his first return. There was about maybe three headline stories, two main scroll stories and a video or two for his second return. First return it went from NHL.com to Crosby.com and every possible link had something to do with him doing something. Including a video called "Crosby drawing a penalty" with was him diving on a crosscheck. This time wasnt nearly as bad though, even with the TV coverage. They just added the game to the NBC schedule, instead of dropping a more entertaining Boston/Montreal game. The one grip I have, is how the hell does any Penguins fan sit through their own broadcast? For Crosby's "second coming" the announcers were all over every little thing he did and blew it up like he was some kind of god. I know he's good, but c'mon. It got so bad I had to turn the game off and do something else. I know it isnt Crosby's fault, but its not going to make me hate him any less. Besides, couldnt he ask the media to focus on his other team mates? That would earn some points with me. Kudo's to the Flyers for the win. Glad the see that streak is finally stopped

Yeah, like that's the first time ESPN has ever put any athlete up on a pedestal like that. Where have I seen that recently... Eli vs. The Patriots Tebow vs. The Bears Tebow vs. The Steelers Jagr vs. The Penguins Jagr vs. The Rangers James vs. The Lakers James vs. The Celtics Lin vs. The Lakers Drogba vs. United Pujols vs. The Rangers You see? It happens on ESPN in every sport...even hockey...even on the Flyers. Come on now, you're normally a pretty chill guy on here. If you hate Crosby that much...that's your problem. But I don't know who you're trying to get your point across to, as I'm the only daily Penguins frequenter in here. Haha. I know ESPN does a ton, I've seen it. I just laughed because I thought it looked funny, and plus it's probably the only time ESPN could actually give two craps about hockey coverage. That picture I thought I was just busting balls, didn't mean anything serious by it. Believe me, I take ESPN as sarcastically serious as every other hardcore sports fan. The NBC picture I posted was because it almost got to the point where I couldnt take it anymore. The ESPN one I just posted for the lulz, and believe me I'm sure they had no idea what was going on during that highlight, or who plays for what team.

Wings lose 5th in a row to Washington. Extremely pathetic calls for Washington in the first to get momentum but the Red Wings battled back and almost tied it up. Hopefully we can grind out a win against New York and Carolina.... we need wins bad.

Gotta love another comeback win. I'm still in shock that Simmonds was able to net a shootout goal. Good game for Bryz, stopping a penalty shot in regulation and winning the shootout.

Pens clinch. I can guarantee that they'll finish the season as the #1 seed

5 Games, that's it? C'mon NHL you can do better then that.

5 Games, that's it? C'mon NHL you can do better then that. Not with the methods they used. 5 games is the max for an over the phone hearing. Besides, the Hawks only have 7 games left.

Definitely a different scene this season. Last season they were heading into the playoffs letting all the playoff desperate (or teams that didn't have a shot) crush them. A great defensive effort tonight, especially on the penalty kill. As for Briere, hopefully this was a sign of him turning it up for the playoffs.

How the hell are the Sabres currently in 8th place? They were in dead last only a month or two ago! Damn, I guess that trade with the Canucks has really paid dividends considering that Sulzer, who was supposed to be a total afterthought, has more points than Kassian and Gragnani combined. As for Hodgson, he started off slow but has now scored 3 times in the past 3 games. Okay, so maybe one goal was garbage and another was an empty netter but they still count.

Blue Jackets **facepalm**
It would be scary to see Detroit's record if they actually showed up to games against teams they should be beating..

You know the Maple Leafs really blow when the fans have been chanting "Let's go Blue Jays" for about half of the game.
Just a beating, plain and simple. Pull within 2 of the Pens.

Like shooting fish in a bucket. I remember a couple seasons ago when I'd see Flyer fans with paper bags on their heads.

Damn it, why won't the Caps just die! Sigh, I'd be surprised if the Sabres actually defeat the Pens tomorrow, Crosby always kills us.

Man, the Pens just got raped by the Islanders for the second straight game. The Sabres should be just fine man. Haha.
