So are we going to get a playoff thread or just use this thread? Guess it really doesn't matter just curious.

As a Bluejackets fan, my jimmies are thoroughly rustled. They definitely should have gotten the first pick in the draft lottery...Edmonton 3 years in a row? Wow. Can't wait to watch some games tonight, it feels like Christmas

Can't believe that bullcrapno call on the offside to Briere that led to his goal. Perfect example of why the NHL needs a coaches challenge, that goal would have been overturned if there was

Gaustad was scoreless in 38 playoff games for the Sabres, tonight he scored his first playoff goal as a Predator.

You know it's bad when it actually makes logical sense to play Johnson on Friday. Flower hasn't won in a while now, what games the Pens wound up winning Johnson came in or the Pens managed to put up like...6 to the 4 Flower's been letting in every game. Blah. Haha.

He's not gonna sit on Friday. The OT goal was all on Letang and Staal, they should have defended that better. And Briere's first goal, GTFO. 3 feet offsides and didn't get called on it. BULLSHIT. But, the Pens defense need to step up and not get lazy after getting a lead. This has been a reoccurring theme throughout this season. I think they'll bounce back and win Game 2, BUT after that, its gonna be last man standing.

Wasn't there a phantom icing that lead to a Penguins goal?

Stupid penalties will cause you to give up important goals. BTW, I didn't see who it was, but there was a Canucks player who just LEVELED a guy on the Kings. It was definitely clean, but it was AWESOME. And that's coming from a Blackhawks fan. So, yes, I am cheering for the Kings.

Wasn't there a phantom icing that lead to a Penguins goal? Was about to bring this up. Phantom icing goal leading to a goal = Missed offside leading to a goal. Good to see Philly pull off the win, I thought Pittsburgh had it after it was 3-0. Nashville/Detroit game was just plain frustrating as hell. Officiating was absolutely pathetic. It went all Nashville's way until Detroit was down 3-1 then they started calling everything for Detroit. If thats the way they think Bettman (who was in attendance) wants games to be called I weep for the rest of the Playoff's. Two of the least penalized teams combine for 17 penalties compared to a heated rivalry game between Pittsburgh/Philadelphia getting 4 total Ridiculous. Couple lucky bounces from Nashville helped them out tonight, though it was a extremely close game throughout. It would have been better if it wasnt for the calls. Hopefully Game 2 is alot better officiating wise and for Detroit to put more pressure on Rinne, who has been completely awesome thusfar. Also, Shea Weber should be out at least a game for that move he pulled on Hank. The NHL isnt the WWE. Classless and unnecessary move at that point of the game. Hopefully he gets at least one game.
