Salary cup is up to 70.3 million...that's nuts....
Truly the greatness of Mike Gillis will be tested this offseason...this is what I would like to see happen...
-Sign Schneider long term (8 Years, 38mill) -Trade Luongo, Ballard, Raymond to the Panthers for Kopecky and a 1st and 2nd (I know it's not an MG deal, well it's a horrible deal but...) -Sign Justin Schultz (ELC Max) -Sign Jason Garrison (3 years 9 mill) -Re-sign Byron Bitz (2 years 2.2mill) -Sign Jordin Tootoo (2 years 3mill) -Re-sign Salo (1 year 3mill)
Now this is probably not all going to happen but:
Sedin(6.1)Sedin(6.1)Burrows(2.0) Higgins(1.9)Kesler(5.0)Booth(4.5) Kassian(0.9)Schroeder(0.9)Kopecky(3.0) Lapierre(1.0)Malholtra(2.5)Hansen(1.35) Bitz(1.1)Tootoo(1.5)
Salo(3.0)Edler(3.25) Bieksa(4.6)Hamhuis(4.5) Garrison(3.0)Schultz(0.925) Tanev(0.9)
Schneider(4.75) Lack(1.0)
Overall Cap Hit: 63.8 Million
Now this is a very good balanced team but the next year would be even scarier....not sure how these re-signings go...
-Re-sign Burrows (4 years, 18mill) -Re-sign Higgins (4 years, 14mill) -Re-sign Lapierre (2 years, 4mill) -Re-sign Edler (6 years, 27mill) -Re-sign Tanev (2 years, 3mill) -Re-sign Schroeder (4 years, 6mill) -Sign Shea Weber (5 years 40mill)
Sedin(6.1)Sedin(6.1)Burrows(4.5) Higgins(3.5)Kesler(5.0)Booth(4.5) Kassian(0.9)Schroeder(1.5)Kopecky(3.0) Jensen(0.925)Lapierre(2.0)Hansen(1.35) Bitz(1.1)Tootoo(1.5)
Weber(8.0)Edler(4.5) Hamhuis(4.5)Bieksa(4.6) Garrison(3.0)Schultz(0.925) Tanev(1.0)
Schneider(4.75) Lack(1.0)
Overall Cap Hit: 74.25 Million
I personally think this is a good enough team to take the cup...

Weber is the ultimate dream for canucks fans. Wont happen, but its possible.
If schultz wants guaranteed ice time, edmonton can have him.

Jonas Gustavsson signs with Detroit. Really excited for this signing, we might actually have a goalie tandem for the first time since 2008.

Brad Boyes signs with the Islanders, what ever will the Sabres do without him?!

Brad Boyes at 1 million is a solid deal. I think he'll turn his career around there. Pittsburgh is apparently preparing to pay Parise possibly more than Crosby. This is the part i hate about July 1st UFA's. MAJOR overpayment.
not a peep from mike gillis

This is from Dustin Leed on twitter.
"Per Bob McKenzie, the teams on Zach Parise's shortlist are the Devils, Wild, Flyers, Penguins and Red Wings. Game on."

Anyone think that there's a chance of Brodeur going to another team?
It'd be awfully weird to see him in another jersey...

Its possible. Most logical seems to be Chicago or Toronto. Still though, it'll be weird to see that like you said.
