It's finally time to do this. After 6 years, a brand new horror thread. The old one is way too glitchy. I can only imagine it'll take double the time to get as many pages in this thread as it did with the old one. Most of the regulars are long gone. Either way, here is a new place to talk about horror movies. Maybe with a fresh start, some new blood will feel welcome to come along and chat with us. Here is a link to the old thread for the purpose of looking back wfigs.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Wrestling_Figures&thread=62192&page=1029I suppose to kick this one off, I'll drop a link to my Scarefest Review/Recap. I already posted most of the pics on here in another thread, but there are some on the article that I may have not posted. www.benevolentstreet.com/?p=6444I also just scored the Scream 5 Film Set today. I still haven't gotten Scream 4 though I intend to. Anyone looking for the 5 film set for a quick and cheap way to get the first 3 Scream flicks on Blu Ray may want to hit their local Wal mart. 20 Bucks is not a bad price at all.

Any word on an "It" remake? Or Sequals for the new Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm St?

A Nightmare sequel seems out of the question. As far as I know, The "IT" remake is still a go. And as for Friday the 13th, there were rumblings of a "Found footage" type of film which honestly sounds terrible. The whole charm of "found footage" movies is to suspend belief and watch it as if they are real. It would be way too hard for me to do that with a Friday the 13th flick. And I can't imagine someone running from Jason but trying to film all the while.

The problem with "It" is that Penny Wise is one's own interpertation of what he should be. So I hope it would not be anything lame like the first movie. Why is Nightmare out of the question?

It seems like the people that made it didn't even like the Nightmare remake. As for "IT", it honestly always felt like 2 different movies to me. The first half when they were kids was great. The second half...meh

I have read reviews online prasing the movie though.

Sad to see the old thread go. I know I wasn't the biggest contributor but I always had my eye on it. There were some good times in there. Hopefully this one takes off just the same and I'll do my best to contribute a little more. That said, this is horror related: I'm doing a project in my New Media class where we have to interact with something new media related throughout the course of the semester and then do a presentation over it. I chose to start a film review blog and throughout October it'll be focusing on Horror films. PLEASE, anyone and everyone feel free to check it out! Read it, "like" it, share it, and especially subscribe to or comment on it. The more activity I get on it the easier my project's going to be. So yeah, check it out here: kucritic.wordpress.com/There are a couple of reviews on there now, and it'll be updated fairly regularly. Appreciate it guys! Let's make the new thread a good one.

I hope a sequel for Nightmare On Elm Street or Friday The 13th come out soon, especially with Nigghtmare, if it's done right it can be good and can bring in a new era of big horror fans. Isn't there a Halloween 3 coming out again? I hope not, both 1 & 2 of the remakes have been abysmal.

Any info on this next Halloween movie that may or may not have Rob Zombie attached? I'm hoping he isn't involved at all, his take on the first one was terrible (in my opinion) and have yet to watch H2. As for Friday the 13th and Nightmare go, I enjoyed both remakes...still need to add Nightmare to my Blu-Ray collection though.

I think I might cave and give it a watch although I know I will most likely be disappointed. I have yet to enjoy any of his movies.

How long 'till we see remakes of 90's horror movies like I Know What You Did Last Summer and Urban Legend?
I actually wouldn't mind an Urban Legend remake, with it's concept and the right director, maybe Guilermo Del Torro, it could be great, the original isn't anything special.

So, question. I'm not too big on the modern thriller/horror scene right now. I'm more of a fan of the classics, with Horror movies, the black-and-whiter the better in my opinion.
So...is there anything more recent you all'd recommend?

So...is there anything more recent you all'd recommend? I've enjoyed a handful here and there. I thought Insidious was good for the most part. And I liked Scream 4. There really hasn't been a whole lot of anything that completely WOW'd me lately. But those were good enough. I liked "Bereavment" and I have a review up for it on the site. I think you may enjoy Chillerama when it comes to DVD/Blu-Ray. The date escapes me but the trailer is on youtube. It's an athology/grindhouse type of flick.
