Hey for all those guys who might remember me from back in the day! And hi all the newer folks! Hope you've all been doing well!
I watched Devil's Candy a few weeks back. Awesome flick. The only thing that I had a slight gripe about was the ending scene. Not so much how it ended, but without giving too much away, the "fire" was just too obviously CGI generated for me, which really sucked because the rest of the flick was sooooo aesthetically pleasing. I get that this was a lower budget film, and they were working with the resources available to them, but that was really the only thing I disliked about the flick.
The rest of it seemed to be pretty damn solid. And Pruitt Taylor Vince really got to shine with his performance. Just throwing this out there for those of ya'll who have yet to see it!

Caught this movie called Girl House on Showtime Beyond tonight. It was pretty decent. It's on youtube as well if anyone wants to check it out.

Man, it is sad what this thread he become. Used to be the hottest in the Entertainment board. Well it's Halloween season so that means horror movies all month. So far I've watched the following:
Rob Zombie's Halloween The original Halloween Idle Hands
Will probably continue tonight with Halloween II, my favorite in the season. Anyone else knocking out any horror films?

I saw Train To Busan last night on Netflix; I thought it was great. I’ve been a fan of foreign horror films for a while but this one was one I didn’t get to see as soon as I would’ve wanted to...either way, I loved it.

Watched Halloween 4 on AMC. I watch all the Halloween movies each Halloween. 4 and 5 are my favourites. Tried watching Rob Zombies part 2 am deathly it was even worse than I remember it. I actually loved the Halloween Remake Zombie did. I just think the second one was horrible. I really hate the direction he took the Dr. loomis character in. Going to spend tomorrow watching the Child's play movies.

It's finally time to do this. After 6 years, a brand new horror thread. The old one is way too glitchy. I can only imagine it'll take double the time to get as many pages in this thread as it did with the old one. Most of the regulars are long gone. Either way, here is a new place to talk about horror movies. Maybe with a fresh start, some new blood will feel welcome to come along and chat with us. Here is a link to the old thread for the purpose of looking back wfigs.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Wrestling_Figures&thread=62192&page=1029I suppose to kick this one off, I'll drop a link to my Scarefest Review/Recap. I already posted most of the pics on here in another thread, but there are some on the article that I may have not posted. www.benevolentstreet.com/?p=6444I also just scored the Scream 5 Film Set today. I still haven't gotten Scream 4 though I intend to. Anyone looking for the 5 film set for a quick and cheap way to get the first 3 Scream flicks on Blu Ray may want to hit their local Wal mart. 20 Bucks is not a bad price at all. This thread is 7 years old dude

Just re-watched all the Freddy Krueger films back to back. I forgot how good the first was. I don't understand why anyone felt the need to remake A Nightmare on Elm Street.

I’ve seen the original Terminator movie like 500 times, seriously. But today I sat down and watched it purely as a horror movie and it felt totally different. Has anyone else done that before? I think you can do the same with the films Alien, Aliens and Predator. They work on so many levels. Action/Sci-Fi/Horror. The Terminator is filled with so many undertones of horror though, it was really refreshing.

If I'm part of the Connor family it is in my best interest that you believe me when I say I'm the good guy. What if the terminator was sent to kill an evil person?

Of I go to re-watch it as an entirely different movie again ...

"I came through time for you."

Strip it of the time travel, big explosions, and hi tech cyber bad guy and at its heart Terminator is very similar to the Friday the 13th films. An unstoppable killer relentlessly stalking his prey while killing anybody who gets in his way. Same way that stripped of the sci fi elements Alien is a pure Hitchcockian suspense thriller. They even have the jump scare of the cat jumping out of a cabinet. Many sci fi films blur the line with horror because both center around the fear of and trying to survive the unknown.
