I had a friend argue with me TO THE DEATH, that if you preorder a game, it's only $5. not to preorder it.. but the whole game is only $5. This was for Pokemon Gold/Silver, if that tells you how long ago this was.. But the idea remains the same and reminds me of what's happening in this post

Well hang on now guys. You forgot to take some things into consideration here. Taxes, toll roads, street gangs that won't let him pass without paying a fee, food along the way, "New Game Release Day" shoes, guns and ammo in case the zombie apocalypse happens and the big one, they only take Galactic Credits in video game purchases, so he'll have to pay a money conversion fee.
I'd say he'll need about $12.85 altogether.

i have the feeling he doesnt think he has to pay all of the money that day which is all fine and dandy if you use a credit card but stores like gamestop dont offer a credit plan or service

Also if you preordered it should say on the receipt the remaining balance. So you should have already had your answer.

Back in the day before i ever preordered anything, i thought it cost $5 just to preorder it, and then when u went to pay it cost the full price of the game. Like i thought the $5 covered the bonuses you got so they werent really bonuses lol.
