I hope the ratings for this are so good that they start airing them every night. Or, at least on the weekends.
The one with the orange, scary ass dead body in the pool is probably my favorite. And the episode with Nosferatu is scary as ****. I used to just shut off the tv and not watch that one when I was little.

Dead Man's Float is probably the best episode of the series. That or Laughing in the Dark.

Personally, I think The Dream Girl (first episode shown last night) is the overall best of the series.
It's the quintessential AYAOTD episode not because it was scary for kids, but because the storytelling was better than anything else they ever did during the show's run.

Since we're talking good/great episodes, which ones do you absolutely hate?
I've never liked The Tale of the Hungry Hounds, Jake and the Leprechaun, the Carved Stone, the Guardian's Curse, Cutter's Treasure, the Long Ago Locket, Train Magic, or Badge (the last of the original AYAOTD episodes).
I would say Station 109.1, too, but I can't throw young Ryan Gosling under the bus. :X

I can't say I really hate any episodes, to be honest. There were two that I never caught on Nick when I was younger and wasn't able to actually watch until I was a teenager (got them online), and those were Jake and the Leprechaun and The Tale of Badge. It's not that I don't like them, they just don't hold much meaning for me since I didn't see them when I was a kid.
I really didn't care for The Tale of Manaha, The Tale of Station 109.1, or Cutter's Treasure. They just never really did anything for me, they would come on and I'd just be like "meh".

Yeah, three of my favorites tonight and the Aaahh!!! Real Monsters pilot afterwards.
Oh, and I forgot how funny (and not scary) Zeke the Plumber was last night.
Zeke would be an awesome Halloween costume.

Zeke the plumber was so good last night, it was even better than I remembered. It's weird to think I haven't seen that episode since I was literally 5 years old.

This 12 AM timeslot sucks, I need my sleep.

This 12 AM timeslot sucks, I need my sleep. I've read this a bunch of different places, but this is from IMDB: "According to M. Night Shyamalan, the movie was inspired by an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? called The Tale of the Dream Girl directed by David Winning in which leading characters are ignored by somebody and don't realize that they are dead until the final moment. In The Tale of the Dream Girl, a brother discovers that only his sister can see him and she ultimately shows him his own obituary."

From Saturday night's AYAOTD episodes:
As much as I like The Dollmaker, I realized for the first time that there is no explanation for why the dollhouse is in the attic.
Usually there is some sort of malevolent force at work, so is it the house or a previous owner who left the dollhouse behind?
Two things I love about the other two episodes is the scaly skin of the school administrators in The Hatching, especially after Jasmine bit the one's hand, and the makeup of the vampire in The Night Shift who could easily rank among the most creepy villains in the show.
If it weren't for The Tale of the Dead Man's Float, the Night Shift would be the best episode of Season 5, in my opinion. Then again, Season 5 was probably the weakest overall of the first five seasons.

So happy Tale of the Nightshift was on, one of my favorites. That green vampire face still kinda scares me. lol

I haven't caught up on the Kenan & Kel episode/movie from Sunday night or Monday night's Cry Baby Lane/AYAOTD lineup, but I am looking forward to this Friday's U-Pick selections. Here's the rundown (and the top four vote-getters will be shown beginning 12 a.m. EST): - The Secret World of Alex Mack: Alex Gets Caught!
- The Wild Thornberrys: Debbie Applies To Boarding School
- The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo: Noah Gets Kidnapped
- Hey Arnold!: Stuff A 4th Grader In A Trash Can Day
- My Brother and Me: Dee Dee Can't Dance
- Ren & Stimpy: Wiener Barons
- Salute Your Shorts: Camp Basketball Tournament
- Angry Beavers: Norb Fakes Being Sick
It didn't make the cut Week 1, but I'll definitely be pissed if My Brother and Me doesn't air this week; it's easily my favorite of all the choices. Alex Mack would be my second choice, followed by Salute Your Shorts and...erm, Ren & Stimpy? Though, I didn't mind the Angry Beavers pilot episode from Week 1. For those that have Netflix Instant, Hey Arnold!, Ren & Stimpy, and Angry Beavers can all be watched (almost) in their entirety. With that said, maybe I'd give Shelby Woo a shot this once, if only for the fact that I don't really care for The Wild Thornberrys.

chicago, you seem to be in the know about this, any idea when AYAOTD will be back?

From what I've read, they're looking into it (probably ratings/higher-ups) and they hope to show more episodes in the future.
But, for now, nothing is scheduled to air during the block in at least the next few weeks.
There's always the Friday U-Pick voting, though, so maybe they'll throw one or two our way in the coming weeks.

Im voting for My Brother & Me. Is there any word on Legends of The Hidden Temple? Are they ever going to show it?
