Okay to cut a long story short, my birthday is coming up and I got an early gift which was Defining Moments 4 Stone Cold. However I already ordered the figure off mattelshop.com about a month back. I do not have a receipt as I wasn't given one. I currently own every Defining Moment figure with the exception of Steamboat(Bret & Cena on the way) and my TRU's are loaded with Steamboat. If I bring the Austin in, in exchange for Steamboat do you think it would be a problem without a receipt? Or they don't care as long as I'm not asking for cash back?

They'll probably ask to see your driver's license. But I'm not sure, I haven't returned anything to TRU in years. Walmart and Target are usually easier to deal with if you have no receipt. ID is needed because they keep track of how many times you make returns with no receipt.

You can check their website to see their exact return policy. They have a fairly strict return policy if you don't have your receipt. They may be able to look up your purchases if you gave your phone number at the time of purchase or if you used a R Rewards card, which I would always suggest doing since it's free and earns you money to use at TRU.

Toys R Us' return policy is very strict. They won't do anything for you without a receipt.

Toys R Us' return policy is very strict. They won't do anything for you without a receipt. that's not true at all. they allow non-receipt returns with a valid drivers license, but they give you the lowest price from the last 30 days, and since the b2g1 free sale was within the last 30 days, they wont give you anything, as you could have bought 3 of the DM figures, and are trying to get money back for the free one. i tried doing this with a basic WM Del Rio figure...not cuz i wanted money back, but because i saw b12 in stock and preferred that one...and they wouldnt let me even do an exchange due to the sale price would come up as $0 when she went to do the return

yeah you can return it in exchange for something else as long as the packaging is not damaged or opened. Even if you got it for $0 or free as the dude above said, your only exchanging it for something else inside the store so they will let you

I don't want money or anything, just an exchange for a figure I don't have.

Since the figures are generalized in their system you can attempt buying Steamboat then returning Austin with the receipt. Worst case is they tell you you have the wrong receipt and you play stupid and return it.

Not a prob man.. yeah its store policy anywhere really.. you only need a receipt and ID if your getting cash back so anytime you have a error like this happen your good to do that.. The only slight prob is there system may have too prove that the very item your returning is still on shelves cause if its not they wont take it back then.. so say ya bought a DM Austin and returned it and there was no more DM Austins on the shelf there system should be able too tell them there is more there or on the way for them too sell. If the Austins were done for for months then they would be like "Umm sir i can not accept this return" haha that would suck but you should be good on any figures really returning them from at least Series 6 Elites-11 and Legends 2-5.. like that
