Thing is, this isn't Mr. Camping's second prediction.. it's his third.
He originally predicted this in September of 1994. He just so happened to say that based on "Evidence from the bible" , which btw says that Nobody knows the day the world will end except God, May 21st, 2011 would be the day that all the souls worthy of going to heaven would be called upon. He coined that date Judgement Day. He said that those left behind would be forced to suffer five months of suffering on earth, before the earth collapsed into a fiery ball of mini-hell. Now, all he has done is smashed the dates together, saying both things will occur on the same day, ala October 21st, 2011.
With that being said, the jist of the story.. the guy is nuts. All his little organization ever wanted was money, so he played off of naive young people and got them to believe that this event was actually going to happen. Now the guys rolling in some deep dough, but it's obvious God isn't happy with him, since he had a stroke back in June. Talk about irony.
