I do believe we should take the mayans prediction seriously though. They have just as much to back up their prediction as Camping did, but sure. Why not? |

He just so happened to say that based on "Evidence from the bible" , which btw says that Nobody knows the day the world will end except God, May 21st, 2011 would be the day that all the souls worthy of going to heaven would be called upon. He coined that date Judgement Day. He said that those left behind would be forced to suffer five months of suffering on earth, before the earth collapsed into a fiery ball of mini-hell. May 21st was my wedding day, so that sounds about right.  |

I can't ing wait until December 22nd so everyone can SHUT UP. I did some research a while back and really there are predictions all the way through 3096(I think). 2016 has some, 202-something has some, and I think 2034 has one. I can't recall exactly. I'm sure 2666 will be a big year for predictions... They'll be so consumed by text lingo and the prediction will be, "da werld is goin 2 666!!!" Being an English major, I can tell you the majority of people on this Earth seem to read WAY to much into everything. I do know that the Bible(the one Camping "got his calculations" from) does say that no one knows or can predict the end and that there will be TONS of false prophets along the way. So yeah... IMO, no point in putting too much stock into these fear mongers. |

I remember hearing about later dates, too. It was something about more Mayan artifacts discovered & many of them were decayed & incomplete. |
