How is that fair to Condit though? He did nothing wrong unlike Diaz. Just because GSP gets hurt means he should have the title fight taken from him and given back to Diaz? Despite the fact that Diaz no showed and had the fight taken from him for disciplinary reasons. And Diaz was punished already by being taken out of the original main event. Dana said himself that if Diaz beats Penn, he would give him a title shot. So if he beats BJ, he'll have to wait after Condit, who hasn't had good of wins as Diaz has had? Come on. Atleased make Penn/Diaz for the interim title. But an interim title fight nearly always involves the challenger who was going to fight for the title - and that would be Condit. So if anything, it would be Condit Vs the winner of Penn/Diaz. But there's really no need for an interim title - it just complicates things... and GSP's trainer has said he'll hopefully only be out for about a month - so the original fight shouldn't be delayed too long. |

How about winner of Penn/Diaz faces winner of Condit/GSP whenever that ends up happening. Or if Penn/Diaz winner wants to fight Condit in a #1 contender match.

Bugger, just heard about this...a real shame, was really looking forward to seeing GSP vs Condit at this card.

^ Yeah. I suppose if it turns out GSP is out for a while, it would make sense to do the winner of Penn/Diaz Vs Condit for the No.1 contender... I'm hoping it's only a slight delay for GSP/Condit though.

Dana has said multiple times he would only bring in an interim title if the champion was going to be out for an extended period of time. It doesn't sound like this is a 6 month injury or something close to that
