Hi guys. I'm looking for some help from people who own all three LJN Andre's.
I just got Blackstrap for christmas and had some concerns that the seller on ebay was possibly repainted it or customized it.
Long Hair Andre - 1984 LJN engraved on back of trunks
Short Hair Andre - 1986 LJN engraved on back of trunks with a letter B under it
Blackstrap Andre - 1986 LJN engraved on back of trunks with letters PI or P1 under. However, it also has a white stamp on the bottom of his feet saying 1989 Grand Toys Ltd.
What do you guys think and what do yours say?
Thanks. Would like some opinions before talking to the seller.

My black singlet Andre also has the white Grand Toys stamp on the botom of his foot and is also dated 1986.
Basically the black singlet is a reapint of the short haired/blue trunks Andre, so I assume they simply used the old mold.
Same thing is also the case with Jakks figures and some Hasbros.

Thank you very much Stom. I was hoping you'd reply as I figured you had some.
What worried me was the two different dates and knowing that the short hair andre is the same mold. I thought the worst and figured he repainted a short hair.
Thanks again.
LJN collection COMPLETE....what will I ever do now.

That's exactly right. They just used the same mold as the short haired, blue trunks Andre. The Grand Toys stamp is actually your assurance that it's NOT a repaint, as the original blue trunks Andre was not issued by Grand Toys.
