Hi guys, Here's my pics of the LJN Variant George Steel with the brown strip. Notice the strip doesn't go all the way up his leg. This is the second posting of this variant, hopefull this will confirm the variant. I live in Canada and bought this at a flea market

I found an old beat up fig that has on his left leg.half of a stripe that is red and the other half is brown..the other side is sorta like that..looks like they painted it brown first and then went over with red..i hope it shows up in the pics.

Again,
The stripe's not really brown. That's just the way a single application of red paint shows up on the black tights. A second paint application was used and that explains the one with the "half red-half brown" stripe. The second paint app is just off a little.
The first one, with the stripe on the leg only, is a legitimate variant. Probably not coincidently, the poster that came with the Steele figures has the same error: the painting of Steele has him with the red stripe on the tights part only and not the trunks over them.

I think with these older figures, the odd manufacturing mistake and fading through time can alter the appearance of figures. I have seen numerous amounts of (varient) posts through my time on here with faded hasbro's claiming to be varients, when a couple of mine had gone like that and when i got them, they were normal! I think the same applies with the LJN figures, the paint can fade/get ingrained with dust/dirt throughout time and we need to be careful what we are labelling as varients. Either way, the George Steele looks pretty nice to me.
