che mills looked like a beast. two nasty knees... i didnt think much of cope anyway, but i did think he had a tough chin. he still might, that just makes it more impressive for mills to put him away that brutal and that quick.

Sure the card looked lackluster on paper, but I think the card definitely delivered for the most part. Now bring on Cain and Dos Santos.

That was a pretty good night of fights. Is it just me, or does Papy Abedi look exactly like Melvin Manhoef after a slight weight loss?
On top of that, such a great cap to the night of MMA with the Angulo/Kirkland match on HBO. Though I'd imagine only James knows what I'm talking about.
Oh and lastly, just a little random tidbit, Andrei Arlovski won his 2nd in a row tonight with a KO over Travis Fulton with 1 second left in the last round. Sadly, from what I hear, the fight was pretty underwhelming other than that.

Damn. Was it just me, or did Leben just not seem "right"? He was pretty gassed midway through the first round and just seemed out of it. He showed a lot of class afterwards though... maybe it was just down to Munoz' great wrestling.

he stupidly went for those neck cranks/chokes early, that clearly werent there. that gassed him quick... but as always, he kept eating stupid punches, and he kept moving forward. how could you not love chris leben? munoz looked sick.
mills and perosh impressed me too. perosh needs to figure out a go to move to take guys down, instead of just pulling guard... because once he got to the ground, he looked brilliant. barao looked beastly too, and id like to see abedi again, just not against that caliber opponent yet.

I actually missed the Kirkland fight due to going out and getting hammered, but I'll check that out along with ProElite 2 on my DVR. And yes, Abedi looks just like Manhoef. It's actually pretty scary.

I thought it was a great show and you can't beat a free one, that's for sure. As for Brad Pickett, I thought he was being WAY too cocky making his entrance to The Octagon with the whole newspaper thing and it ended up biting him in the ass. I thought it looked good on him getting choked the out. I mean, he comes in reading a newspaper thinking it was going to be a walk in the park and he was going to go right through his opponent and then he's the one getting tapped out. I thought it was great. Can't stand cockiness like that.

You sure do over-think things, Old School. It's not like he was acting cocky in the fight, and got caught as a result.
Though I will admit I was rooting for Barao either way. However I could have done without his silly "thumb sucking" gesture after the win.

I hate how Leben uses his right foot to step in the cage first, shows no respect.

I was entertained last night. Alves looked great! So happy to see him get the finish.
Pickett vs. Barão was a sick fight. From the moment of the first exchange you knew someone was getting dropped before the round was over.
Pretty gutted to see Leben go out like that. A lot of people over at sherdog think he "punked out" but I'm not so sure. Munoz looked pretty beastly but I still think he's one more fight away from a bout with Silva. Would love to see him vs Chael, but doubt that's going to happen.

I thought it was great. Can't stand cockiness like that. Good lord, this might be the silliest thing you've posted on here... it was a GIMMICKED WALK-IN - it's a take on an east end of London persona, derived from his Grandfather. That's why he wears the braces and the hat. He's been doing it since his Cage Rage days. From Wikipedia: Brad's nickname and his flamboyant entrance to the ring are not derived from Brad Pitt's character "One Punch Mickey" from the movie Snatch but from his grandfather. His unique entrance sees him entering to the song "Wallop" by Chas & Dave, wearing a string vest, cutoff jeans and his customary trilby hat. He is a supporter of the London football club Tottenham Hotspur. So he wasn't being "cocky" by coming out reading the newspaper, even though Goldberg seemed to think this as well - in fact neither he, nor Rogan knew what was going on. Rogan even said "what the hell is this walk-in song?", which I thought was pretty ignorant. I thought Rogan was pretty clued up on fighters' backgrounds.

^ I had no idea what was the background story on his whole entrance and neither did Goldberg or Rogan, as you pointed out. I can only go by what I saw and what I saw in MY opinion at the time, was a VERY cocky entrance.
But now I've heard the back-story to it. Thanks for the bit of information there.

Wow, really? A night of awesome fights and we're talking about a fighter's walk-out? Who cares...
...now, back on the important topics. That Renan Barao kid looked great. Did I hear that he's on a 27 fight win streak? That's insane! Looks like we finally have someone to contend for Dominic Cruz's belt.

If he can get through him easily, then consider him in the upper echelon of BWs.

I honestly loved Pickett's walk-out. I didn't think it would be that hard to figure out it was an English/London thing, obviously some of you prove me otherwise.
Anyway, great night of fights. It always seems to go that way. The shows everyone gripes about "no wonder it's free because this card sucks," always end up being the most entertaining.
EDIT: Here's the tune. Catchy as sh*t.
