I've been on the lookout for Elite 11 and Classic 6 for a while now since I know people have been finding them in stores. Today I stopped in 2 Wal-Marts that last week had an empty shelf. So this week they restocked, but what do you think the restocked with? 2 full cases of last years Heritage Series, and 2 Packs Series 8.
Why would Wal-Mart still be stocking figures that are well over a year old? Why would this crap even still be in the Warehouse? Can't they send it back to Mattel at some point and get credit for them so they can get some new inventory? You would think around the Holidays they would start stocking up and hopefully get some new product, but that couldn't be further from the truth.
I know Mattel has no control over the distribution, but you would think they could provide their retail partners with SOME guidance as to what they should order and in what quantities so you don't end up with situations where Wal-Mart is still stocking their shelves with old product.

I'd be kind of upset if that happened to me too. I mean, year old products, I could understand month old, but 1 year is ridiculous.

That's not so bad, my TRU restocked several cases of E3 figures after the E9 figures were cleared out from the Vince display. Nice planning for the Vince promotion, TRU; Don't stock anything new but make all those exclusive WM Elites not count towards anything! I mean, tickets for WM28 just went on sale and there's still WM26 figures on the pegs? Are you serious, Geoffrey Bro?!

They might also have been sitting in the Wal-Mart distribution centre and this is their efforts to shift some of the inventory. Not a case of them going "Lets piss of the wrestling figure collectors by buying brand new figures that were released last year !"

My local K-Mart has Legends 1 and 2 still. It would be good for Mattel to tell the retailers how to control things and remain fresh with new figures.

Its not the Holidays yet though.. we have another few weeks til Black Friday and well if i had too guess, there trying too get rid of those old figs asap before black friday so they can set out the fresh brand new cases of Figs for the Shoppers too come dig thru for X mas. Mattel said Stores need too sell there stock too before they order more so if that were the case, until those figs sell, technically wal mart prob wont even buy anymore new stock. It sucks i know man! But all you can do really is get up early for Black Friday and be at Wal Mart too check out the Toys stock and get the new figs or try too help wal Mart sell that old stock so they can buy the new stuff.. My stores are the same way. All old stock never gets new stuff cause im in a really small town where not many ppl buy those things

Simple overordering on their part. This is what killed the Legends line so quickly. Stores, like K-Mart especially, would order countless amounts of Legends 1 and 2, only to have them sit their for months, and most stores still have some on the shelves, especially mine. Just the stores fault for overordering a certain series.
