Hello all I'm wanting to get an elite scale ring but the Jakks wm ring is 10 pound cheaper than the elite scale ring from mattel. So is there any differences with quality? Are the posts metal on both? Thoughts and comparisons are welcome

The Mattel version is more accurate and durable. Posts are plastic

The Jakks turnbuckle covers are pretty massively oversized, not removable, and the ropes sag. And the ringposts bend inwards after a while. The canvas and apron are all one piece, too.
The Mattel ring looks better and is more durable in a lot of ways, but the elastic on the apron snapped for me the second time I assembled the ring. And the Jakks classic WM ring obviously has a better theme if you're a classic figure collector.

Ok thanks guys, I think I'll go for the elite ring then, do the steps come with the Steps and is it the same size or bigger than the Jakks one

I use my Jakks RSR and sold my ESR by Mattel. I found it a tad to big for my liking and the overall feel look (to me) is less authentic than Jakks version.

Jakks Pros: Metal Posts Ring fabric stays on more securely (if playing) MANY Jakks accessories for this ring such as MITB, HIAC, EC You can find great customizers who sell ropes, skirts, mats, etc.
Jakks Cons: Posts are not as secure - I superglued the post pieces together and they are not bending in after years - however, this limits what I can do to customize Ring skirts are attached to the mat, unless you use a RSR that came with the chamber which has no ring skirts, then yiou can tie on custom skirts.
Mattel Pros: Slightly bigger than RSR - Could also be considered a con, but I like the size. Posts are plastic but very secure Ring ropes are extremely easy to remove to customize the ring steps look more accurate Ring skirts are separate from the mat You can find great customizers who sell ropes, skirts, mats, etc.
Mattel cons: Posts are plastic Ring skirts have been reported to rip where they connect to the posts (has not happened to mine) ring mat fabric doesn't stay secure if playing. It uses clips to hold it down, but it isn't very effective. I used strips of duct tape to secure it - 3 strips on each side of the ring, and it holds very well. slightly more expensive (usually) No Mattel created accessories for the ESR.
I was an early adopter of Mattel, so I sold off most of my RSR stuff when the ESR came out. I wish I hadn't, because Mattel isn't putting out any sets for this ring. The Jakks HIAC for the RSR does fit around the ESR (Doesn't attach to it, but fits around it) so I still have it and the MITB Jakks set which also fits around it. The other sets do not. I still have a couple RSRs, but I use the ESR and I do like the ring better. I just wish I could get a cage match set for it...
Anyway, I hope this helps with your decision.

I disagree with most of you.
I think the Jakks ring is more accurate. The ring posts are metal. There was only one jakks ring that had the caving post problem and that was version one of the WM ring. This was fixed when jakks made the extended post pegs which do not bend.
The ropes do not sag on all Jakks RSRs. BUt with time the elastic is going to eventually sag as it get's older the rubber rots. This will happen to all wrestling ring ropes.
The posts on the Mattel ring are way to fat if you ask me and are plastic. THe Jakks turnbuckle covers are not removable like the matell ones but if your creative you can make them similar. Jakks pads however are made of cloth and padding wich makes them look much better if you ask me.
Lastly Mattel's ring is much bigger. The RSR of Jakks is big in it's own right. Personally I think the Jakks ring is perfect for size. The mattel one is a bit too large. If you ever see a ring in person you will notice they are smaller than they look on tv.
I will always sing the praises of the RSR. Don't e discouraged by the over blown post caving complaints.

I had the ESR and the thing completely broke thanks to the plastic posts. Once they are in, they don't come out. When I came down to my first floor one morning, I noticed my table had collapsed and the post must have caused that corner of the ring to bend forward. This table incident happened before with an RSR. Nothing happened it just fell off and was perfectly fine. Plus, I have a complete collection of the Royal Rumble skirt, WM RSR skirts, Skirts from Nate, and all the cages and what not. More money for your buck if you ask me with the RSR. I like the improvements Mattel did but it seems like they emphasized and went too much to work on the RSR flaws in which made it's own flaws to make the RSR seem stronger at the certain points. My opinion. Wanna go for high quality figures, go for Mattel. Want a good big ring? RSR is your best bet.

I gotta disagree with you, because the ESR Posts are NOT permanently in once there in. I take mine out all the time and put them in when using my Naparo skirts and switching them. You just gotta be a man and pull them out straight out with strength lol If your getting this ring for a child then you may want too help them take the posts out and stuff when you want but yes, they lock in nicely so you dont have too worry about the bending problem and they dont break. This is a false statement by the poster i quoted. Someone above said the Canvas dont stay on tight while playing and he had too duct tape his down. Well, thats not true either. I fiddle around with my figs sometimes too having little matches and i pick my ring up and move it from room too room alot and i NEVER had too re do my canvas since puttin it on when i first bought it. The canvas stays really steady too the mat. Unless you are playing with your figs rough and Dragging there feet really hard across the canvas then it may come off but idk anyone who would spend that price on a ESR just too try and damage it lol Only thing i dont like about some ESR's is some rings were reported to arrive warped a little and not set down evenly on a table. Mine is a tiny tiny bit but its nothing horribly bad. Some spots a figure can stand up good and other parts i have too adjust there ankle joints forward or back more to get them too stand steady in the ring. Its nice too that the Skirt is not attached too the canvas itself. I have never had a problem with my Original Raw Skirt ripping or fraying or nothing. The ESR is a really really nice ring too get. I bought mine back in March and i still absolutely love it!! and Hey either way, you can always hit up Naparo and get some WONDERFUL custom made ringskirts and such. Look at the pics in my sig, he made those for me and they def add too my rings look alot more!! Even ring ropes were made from him. So either ring you get, you can count on Naparo for customs because there legit and really sweet too have.
I dont have an RSR and never did. One thing i do like about it is the cloth turnbuckles but honestly, you could buy the ESR and get custom made ones that hook on about the same way with string if you didnt like the rubber ones that came with the ESR. I heard alot of ppl say the ropes are looser and saggy, i hear the stairs are not as good detail as the RSR and im just now finding out the RSR has Steel posts and well, thats actually pretty cool for sure, but imo it really dont matter if posts are steel or mettal.
I say make your own choice but if you needed an opinion support Mattel. Jakks dont even make WWE stuff anymore so buying there ring is just pointless in helping Jakks anymore. You could pick up an ESR and help support the cause of Mattel selling just ONE more ring and maybe help convinve them that ESR sales are not as bad as they say so they will make some dam accessories like a Cage and realistic Chamber and Stage and stuff. You can easily get Custom skirts as i mentioned tho from naparo who does wonderful work but i really would love seeing Mattel make a ESR Cage, Chamber, or stage someday down the road and well, if ppl support the ESR and buy them up more, this could still happen

What are the odds its going too fall off a table tho? lol I had mine since march and move it from room too room and sit it on different tables and it never once fell. I mean, the thing is massive and steardy.. you would have too really be rough with it and beating on the thing for it too fall off a table and break, and well, for $60 + who is really going too spend that much money too purposely try damaging a ring ya know? Plus, if it DID fall off a table, its not going too break... the ring base comes in 2 parts and snaps together, so it may snap apart from the clips but you just snap it back in.. the only thing i could see breaking on it is the posts but like it would have too hit at a really weird angle too get the weight on that post plus i really dont see ya buying a $60 + ring too toss it around lol at least i would hope not anyways haha

The look pretty much the same in photos, but the Mattel ring is so much better in real life.
