So i'm getting a nintendo 3ds for christmas and im planning on getting Super Mario 3D Land (cant get wrong with a mario game) and Ocarina of Time 3D (isnt the original ocarina of time, the highest rated game ever?) Anyway I havent been keeping up with the 3/DS games so i don't know which are any good, especially 3DS I was going to get Luigi's Mansion 2  but thats not till next year i think |

Star Fox 64 3D is really good. Mario Kart 7 is out Dec 2nd. Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion are both out in Q1 of next year though!

Mario Kart 7 is coming out less than a month from now. If it's anything like the DS iteration, it'll be regularly in my 3DS for the next several years. 8 player online, too!
Honestly, not a whole lot to choose from just yet, but right around the corner this year are the two Mario games, Sonic Generations (which is different from the console version) and Cave Story 3D. Early next year is Luigi's Mansion 2 and Icarus Uprising, the MGS3 port, Paper Mario, a legit Resident Evil game, and....probably a few more I'm forgetting. They are working on a Smash Bros games for 3DS, too. Nothing to say about that other than they are creating it.

Maybe Street Fighter IV, if your a fan of fighting games, Resident Evil 3D may look good in stores but its a rushed short game and also you might want to check out Sonic Generations.
Don't forget there are quite a few of classic and new (but most are crap) games on the eShop.
A lot of good things are coming out next year, so you may want to hold back some of your money.
