I just finished watching YET ANOTHER peice of poop movie with John C Riley in it.
The Suck movies name.................. Terri
OMG Does that movie SUCK BIG TIME.
SPOILERS......... ...... ... .... .... .... .... .... .... ..... ..... SPOILERS...... ..... ..... .... ..... SPOILERS......
So Bacisly the movie is about a fat kid, we see the fat kid get picked on alot. And then the fat kid stalks a girl, and then the fat kid has the guy making fun of him go over to his house. I guess he wanted to be insulted in the comfort of his own home? And then the Fat kid chickens out of being with the girl he's been stalking. And then the fat kid hugs his principle..... and then the credits roll.... End Film..... WOW WTF! That was the movie in a nut shell.
....... ..... END SPOILERS.... ...... ..... .... ...... ..... ..... ..... ..... .... END SPOILERS.... ..... ......
I was so disapointed by this movie. John C Riley, who I associate with Talladega Nights, and Step Brothers, and Boogie Nights has made two really crap movies. Terri and Cyrus.
I rented this film only because I saw John C Riley, and Creed Bratton (who I love on the office) are on the cover as "stars" of the film.
John C Riley does have a somewhat bigger role in the film but his role really does NOTHING to move the film along.
Creed Bratton also has NOTHING to do with the films plot. Basicly he is in the movie only to answer the question...... Who does this kid live with? They could have just as easily said the kids parents were at work hence the lack of adults in the films at home scenes.
The scenes with the fat kid getting picked on were pointless. Only there to.... idk? Make us know that fat people should be picked on? F if I know? There is never a point in which the fat kid stands up for himself, or at the very least confronts his bullys.
This film has no plot, it moves along at a snails pace. I usually can tell if a movie is good depending on this. At what point into the film do I look at my watch? If a movie is good I will look at my watch at least 30 mins into the film. With this movie I looked at my watch 2 mins into the movie..... just hopeing it was more time that had past, bringing me closer to the end.
Why does Hollywood make these lame movies? You know the people making the movies know they suck. I can see why the stars make these movies.... the money.
This movie is it. It being the point where I do not rent films anymore that advertise John C Riley as a "star".
What did you guys think about the movie?
If you havnt seen it PLEASE STAY AWAY from renting/buying terri. I bet it's called terri cause they knew it was TERRIble

Well, I happened to enjoy this movie. The ending lacked a bit, but it wasn't worth going online to bash John C. Riley.
And I stopped reading after your spoilers...Because, if that's what you got from the movie, you need to watch it again. Because that's not at all AT ALL what happens. He doesn't stalk her, the kid who goes over his house doesn't pick on him, he's just like that. Please rewatch the movie and summarize it as you go.

I enjoyed Cyrus, so i don't think i'm going to take your reccomendation at all. Riley is fantastic in picking his roles lately, I am dying to see We need to talk about Kevin, but it sounds like he's taking more dramatic roles again which I think he does really well in, and breaks them up by some comedys where he can get away with being one of his goofball characters. Love Rileys work and will absolutly check this out.

Terri looked really good. Your write up was structured a little...differently. Think I'll still check it out.

Let me get this straight... You don't like the dramas he is in because they aren't comedies?

Let me get this straight... You don't like the dramas he is in because they aren't comedies? He was in dramas way before his comedies such as Days of Thunder and The Perfect Storm and Chicago.

I'm more disappointed in John C. McGinley. StateFarm? Really? And you brought Ricky Ullman with you?

He doesn't stalk her, the kid who goes over his house doesn't pick on him, he's just like that. Please rewatch the movie and summarize it as you go. Im sorry if someone comes over to my house to make fun of my body I see that as being picked on. If you want to justify some jerks insults by saying he's a jerk so it's ok..... idk what to say. What happend then if my summary is not correct? He doesnt stalk the girl? Did he not get to class late cause he was spying on her with her bf? Does not stare at her all class long? That's a stalker to me. What was the purpose to the opening scene? To show us his fat body in the bath tub? Nothing was established in those first 5 mins. Creed Brattons character is supposed to be..... mentaly ill? Idk? They never really explain it. In some scenes he looks aware of whats going on, in other scenes he seems spaced out like he's high on something, and in the other scenes he is asleep. His character did NOTHING to enhance the story or to help move things along. What was the purpose of the scene where the fat kid kills mice? And also I thought it was DISGUSTING that he would touch dead mice with his bare hands. Did they want to establish him as mentally intellectually- disabled? That's what I got from those scenes. And then later he goes and carrys conversations with his principle like he's a level headed, rational individual.... so WHY THE F was he killing mice? Why does he carry on in only PJ's the entire movie? That whole killing mice SCENES (Plural, yes there is more than 1 scene with the fat kid killing mice) did NOTHING to move the story along, they did NOTHING to help develope the character, and why did we need so many scenes involving mice? I saw those scenes as disgusting filler, an excuse to pad the movies run time. Theres just sooo many scenes in this movie that do nothing. They dont establish the characters. They dont move the story along. They just seem like filler. This movie is almost 2 hrs long. In those two hours you will not understand why the fat kid is so..... intellectually- disabled?.... Dumb?......Slow?...... Idk? It would have been nice if in the scene where the "friend" goes over to his house we got an explanation as to why Creed is the way he is. Or why the fat kid is the way he is. Really to me this movie is a perfect example of how LAZY writers can be. We got no explanations, no plot, and no ending.

if you can't understand or appreciate a movie like terri, you're better off with comedies, or something easier. i'd hate to offend, but i find it offensive that people don't take the time to understand a movie that wasn't what they'd like. it's okay that you don't like it, but it's stubborn to out right insult the movie.
i for one encourage more dramatic roles from comedy actors.

John C Riley....... Mostly Comedic roles. Creed Bratton...... Mostly Comedic role on the office Online reviews told me it was a dark comedy. Excuse me if I thought it was supposed to be a comedy. Now redbox did list it as a Drama but still, NOTHING happens in this movie. There has to be some sort of conflict/clash of emotions for a movie to be considered a drama. This "movie" seems more like idk? I just saw the trailer on youtube..... watch the trailer....... if you watch the trailer you already saw about 70% of the dialouge in the film.

Actually, a lot of John C. Reilly's work is dramatic. He didn't do a lot of comedies until recent years.
Magnolia, Perfect Storm, Thin Red Line, Gangs of New York and so on. He's been in dozens of dramatic films.
It's kind of annoying when people don't fully understand (or even try to understand) a film and immediately blame someone else, whether it be the writers, actors, Netflix or trailer.

I didn't know certain actors had to strictly stick to only one kind of movie genre.

Well you've officially challenged me...I'm going to check this out tonight. I don't take most of what you're saying seriously because of how much I enjoyed Cyrus and also reading viewers reviews on this film indicates it's better than what you're saying. You are entitled to your opinion, but I don't get why you had to bash it on here.
