Hey guys, I just wanted to know if there are any LEGO collectors, past or present, on the board? I sent away for a free LEGO Holiday 2011 catalog about two weeks ago and wanted to buy my first set in at least 10 years, or since I was a kid. Why? I really don't know, and I didn't plan on buying anything from the catalog/online store until my father suggested the new Volkswagen V1 Camper Van as a team project. So, after $120 and 10-12 hours of uninterrupted building time spent (about 99% of which came from me ), this is what we came up with on our first try: And, for the record, I've since corrected the rear bumper (I had a few small white plates in the wrong place so that it couldn't connect) and adjusted the height/angle of the steering wheel (even though I don't have any mini figures to try it out on). As I mentioned before, it took about 10-12 hours in all which included the time to sort through the unmarked bags containing 1,332 pieces, as well as the actual assembly of the vehicle. I had a lot of fun building this with my father, and I plan on adding more sets to my current collection (of one) for as long as I still enjoy the whole process. Thoughts on collecting LEGO? For that matter, does anyone still collect LEGO? Any adult fans? I'd love to get my hands on the Death Star.

When my brothers and I were little, my grandmother would send us Lego sets from Holland. We thought they were so amazing. You couldn't get them anywhere in the States. A lot of them looked like this: I'm glad to see Lego's are still popular & available. Some of the sets are a bit pricey, but it's cool to see kids use their imagination to build something different every time.

Wow, that looks amazing. I love all of the detail inside of the van. I've built Lego stuff before, but nothing as big (in pieces) as this. Definitely feel proud for building this set. I love all sorts of Legos, but the only thing preventing me from purchasing is the price. I wouldn't mind getting some of the Star Wars or Indiana Jones sets. Great pick-up and good job.
