So check it out. I just got off the phone with customer service. They had one huge order of over 300 pieces come through, and it cleaned out the stock they had. so those who got ur order in before the 300 piece order, your good. But every one after will be on backorder. There is no guarantee that they will get any more. Your order can stay in the system on back order, legally, for around 4-5 weeks, then they will cancel your order if it can't be filled by then. So those of you saying they will cancel it in 2-3 days your wrong. It's 4-5 weeks. So I'll pick up my set on monday. And to either ringside, bigbadtoystore, or which ever other company may have put the 300 piece order in, shame on you. lol Wow. Why would Mattel even approve of a 300 piece order? You could only order 20-25 at a time There was a limit You couldn't order 300 at a time People need to stop spreading rumors

impression i seem to get is:
if you're order status was " Item located - in stock" ,then you're getting your order, and are good to go...
if you got a status or seperate email that said your order was on "backorder" ,then the chances of getting it at some point are 50/50,and the order may be cancelled and your credit card recredited for the money, suppossedly this weekend...
am i correct?

lol really it was an accident? That's funny. I was confused when I saw people saying they got em from there but I guess they have to honor it from what it sounds like? It seems to be an accident -- Mattel has heavily hyped the release date for these heavily-anticipated figures, then they suddenly turn up $10 cheaper three days earlier. Has to be a huge screw-up. Legally, they don't have to honour sales. The contract to buy needs the seller's acceptance after the buyer orders. This is why sites can sometimes mistakenly list 3DTVs for $60 and whatnot and then cancel all orders for them. I guess we'll see if MattelShop do go through with some of these orders, though. I just hope there are still figures left for Monday. I saw the Rockers MattelShop thread this morning before anyone responded to it, but couldn't order as I'm in the UK.

Well, this turned into a debacle...I just read about the 300 item order that screwed everything up. They didn't put a limit on how many sets you can order? At least Matty has a 5-item limit to keep something like this from happening!
Sigh, my order's been split up like crazy. First, the Rockers went on back-order and now, so has RRH Rock, even though it still shows up as In Stock. So for now, I'm only going to be getting the Big Show in the mail soon. The customer service lady was nice and said that my other orders were still good and on back-order status until they get new stock. I'm guessing I'll still get the Rock from them later on but won't hold my breath on the Rockers. I'll leave my order as-is but go ahead and order another set from Matty's on Monday to be safe. It'd be nice if Mattel was cool about owning up to their mistake and pull some of the Matty stock to honor all the MattelShop orders and just take the loss for not being careful with their ordering system. This can seriously leave a bad first impression on the new Legends line!
I shouldn't get too upset about it, though. The Rockers were never supposed to go on sale for $20 on MattelShop, it's always been advertised as a Matty's exclusive for $30. Those that placed their orders early got lucky and good for them, they got a cool deal!

I don't think the issue has to do with there being shortages of Rocker sets. It's just an issue with Mattelshop putting up a certain amount, apparently overselling somehow by a large amount, and now everyone who placed an order (some were apparently already charged) is possibly going to be turned away. It would appear the issue is completely with Mattelshop.com and not Mattycollector, or general figure shortages.

basically, the timeline appears to be this:
Rockers go up for sale on mattelshop.com
people start placing orders
a huge 300 piece order comes in,wiping out what's left of the stock
set still listed in stock, because it takes hours apparently for the site to update properly
people were allowed to order sets even though the stock was sold out, hence the "Backorder" thing...which may or may not be filled in the future...
so,roughly, anyone who go their orders in before the 300 piece order was phoned in should get them...anyone who ordered AFTER that was phoned in is SOL....

I don't think an ebay scalper would be that gready though just b/c they would get stuck with to much.

People, relax. You can't order 300 at once, the limit is 20 per order.
However, Mattelshop didn't limit the purchase per household so it's their fault for that.

Well, I just checked the status of my credit card and it has a pending charge from Mattel on it. I guess my order was placed before they ran out of stock. I wonder how many people ordered multiple sets. This may be the reason they ran out so fast. EDIT...I just saw the post about the 300 being ordered. Wouldnt it be funny if it was Ringside? You better check. Cause mine was backordered and even though they said "We Will Not Charge your Card until the item is in stock and ships" Those idiots at Mattel Charged my card anyways and took my money. I had too cancel my order asap today and they said "it will take 3-5 business days for me too get my money back." This is very shady business from them. Im not ordering anymore legeneds from Mattel again. I may try Andre in January, but that be it! Im not trying too get a screw job everytime from mattel because they need too loan customers money too pay for something a few days then give it back 3-5 business days later. Im still so pi$$ed off at them

And that is common practice everywhere does that with debit cards they preauthorize an amount and then a few days later it drops off. Thats just how it works it isn't some conspiracy by mattel or anything.

Somewhere on one of the pages when I was placing my order it said "the CC won't be charged until the order ships" but then in fine print it said something about Debit & Bank cards being charged early. So far so good my order hasn't been canceled or put on B/O it still says "item(s) located in stock"

Yeah, the story about someone ordering 300 is complete crap, either made up, or a customer rep is lying to try to cover up for their screw up. YOu can only order 20 at a time. Go and try to put 50 kofi flex forces in your cart, it will not let you.
