In the knowledge that this thread could spark a large debate about what is probably the biggest situation of this 'PG Era'.. let's talk about John Cena.
Do you feel he deserves his spot? First of all, I know that around 50-60% of people here support Cena in some way or another.. so please don't say 'I know the IWC hate Cena but....', because quite frankly, a lot of people here have turned pro-Cena.
Anyway, I personally feel that Cena is shoved down our throats and has been for quite a while. WWE have a gold mine in him waiting to put over some other stars. It seems that the WWE just play it safe with Cena, and their booking has led to him becoming the same old. His character never evolves and his feuds are often deprived of a personal undertone.. simply centred around the WWE Championship which everyone knows he will eventually win.
Do you think he's a good wrestler? I think he's okay.. and I understand that people think he's had some great matches. But to counter-act that.. how many other superstars have been given, say 1/4 of the opportunities he's enjoyed since 2008? I'd say only 1 have recieved 25% of the Cena treatment - Randy Orton. So if he wasn't having a great match, considering he headlines roughly 12-13 pay-per-views per year.. then there would be a problem in my opinion.
I think that Cena is actually a great man. He bores me, I'm not going to lie. The deal is this - Cena needs a character change. Not necessarily a heel turn, but we need to see a different side. Why would Cena let Rock walk all over him like the way he has done? Why wouldn't he AA Rock last night when Rock was mocking his crowd reactions? Lastly -- who do you wanna win at WM28 -- Rock or Cena
Cheers.

Does he deserve his spot? Yeah, he's worked his way up, hes the poster boy, does so much chairty work, and is the make a wish foundations most requested person, works day in, day out, one of the hardest worker employees they have by a long mile.
Is he a good wrestler? He's ok, he can put good matches on when he wants/given the right opponent like with Punk
Will he win at WM28? Yes.

I love Cena, personally. He deserves his spot, for sure. I think he is capable of having great matches and I think he should win at Wrestlemania.

Yes, he is extremely over and talented (whether you admit it or not). He loves what he does, and busts his ass night after night for the reward of doing what he loves. Cheer him or boo him, he's still out there. He's entertaining as his "character" and he's a class act outside of the ring.
He can wrestle, I'd love to see any of us get in the ring and do what he does, instead of criticizing him for his small moveset.
I'd love Rock to win for old times sake. but I see Cena walking out with the victory.

Bottom line for me is cena is a bona fide mega star and a good role model. Nobody in recent memory has reached his level of stardom and for that he might have his share of supporters for

Do you feel he deserves his spot? Yes. John Cena worked his ass off and proves every night that he loves professional wrestling unlike some people who just say they love professional wrestling to get the cheap pop.
Do you think he's a good wrestler? I don't think he's the best wrestler ever, however, I think he's a better wrestler than Hulk Hogan was in his prime.
I am fully behind Cena for WrestleMania. The Rock showed me that he doesn't give a crap, he said "I'm never leaving again." and then what happened? He left. He came back. He'll leave again. He'll come back for Mania and then we will never see him again, mark my words.

I am not a huge John Cena mark, but I respect everything that he has done in the WWE and has payed his dues and is THE MAN right now.I always greatly respect his actual in ring work and think he's one of the better in ring wrestler that the company has and has had sense he became a main eventer in '05.He's put on classic matches with Edge,JBL,Umaga,HBK and Punk just off the top of my head.
I am also going to throw this out right now that John Cena is and will go down as one of the top ten biggest stars in pro wrestling history when all is said and done.

He certainly deserves his spot
He's not the best in the world but he can hold his own when it comes down to it.
Cena, i grew up loving Rocky but Cena needs to win for Rock to pass the torch.

Deserved his spot? Of course he did, he was the chosen one. But, he's now been pushed to death. Don't get me wrong, the man himself isn't, can't possibly be as blameless as some believe. He's at the very least guilty of going through the motions for quite some time now. Bigging-up Ryder isn't going to change that now, and CM Punk is definitely not letting you into his bed, is he, John Boy?
I want to like him, but he's mostly stale cheese. This pointless, half-assed, year-long "WWE All-Stars" meets Twitter crap with Rock? Are they slowly digging a hole down which he'll be reinvented? Do they know what they're doing?! These are the questions in my mind. Crossroads for John Boy (and the WWE)!

They are not gonna have Rock job to Cena in his hometown hahaha no way. Rock has too much stroke to go over at WM28 but most likely there will be a rematch where Cena will go over.

Cena deserves everything he has accomplished. He's great with the fans and even lately, the old saying "no reaction is a bad reaction" comes to mind. The crowd is into him, regardless if it's them hating. I see him becoming a wonderful heel. A very slow gradual character change. Smiling less and less and pretty much turning his back on us, the fans.

Do i feel Cena deserves his spot Yes and No Yes because i know his bust his ass and yadda yadda with all the stuff he does outside the ring. No because if he wasn't forced down everyones throat every single night and took a backseat and a cool off period in a minor feud ala Orton Rhodes then maybe he wouldn't be booed so much. As far a his WWE character goes I hate it Cena stated before he does he salute for all the troops and stuff BUT..... Cena didnt start doin his salute thing till after he filmed the Marine movie. and on WM 28 i dont want him to win but he probably will I want the Rock to win

He deserves his spot.
He is not a good wrestler. Yeah like Foley said, hes had great matches. If you go back and watch those great matches hes always outshined by his opponent. I understand hes a brawler and he isnt about the holds but this is wrestling. Mix it up a bit and keep everybody interested.
In my opinion its about time for him to either step down and put some people over or turn heel and do something different. After his match with Rock at WM hes gotta do one of them. I respect Cena but dammit, its time for something new.

No, I don't really believe he "deserves" the top spot. He was quickly given it, and shoved down our throats for years, while he does nothing remotely interesting or original to wow us. I don't buy the whole "he busted his ass, therefore he deserves everything he got" line of thinking, either. He gets paid to bust his ass, he gets paid to keep up the good guy image outside the ring, and frankly he's not doing much more work than anyone else in the WWE. They're all out there working 300 days a year...sure, he puts in more time with the media, fans, and charities, but like I said, he gets paid big bucks to do that. I'm sure if afforded the same opportunity, just about anyone in the WWE would put in the same amount of work.
I believe Cena could be a better wrestler if he tried harder. To me, he's become complacent, boring, and sloppy in the ring. Why should he bother trying any harder? He's on top, and he's not going anywhere anytime soon.
Rock vs. Cena? I think you could probably guess who I'd like to see win that one. If they'll let ANYONE go over Cena cleanly, it's The Rock. Even that I'm skeptical of, though.

i think he deserves his spot as much as any other wrestler has in the last 10 years, i think he's overall not an entertaining wrestler but obviously has his basics down, and no, i'm only relatively enthralled to see their match. i'd be happy knowing the outcome and finish, other than that i could care less.

I don't really know how he came to get a spot on the WWE roster, but I will say that he is a great man for the role he's got. Seems very fan friendly, very reliable and genuinely loves the atmosphere of the WWE. Do I think he's a good wrestler? Well, let me say I think he's a great sports entertainer. He's had some great matches no doubt, and his moveset's alright, but his strength is by far his ability to deliver a fantastic promo and really connect with the fans. I have always said, I think he's cut from the same cloth as the Rock, Austin, Warrior, Hogan etc. when it comes to connecting to the crowd. He leaves a lot to be desired in the ring but I don't think that's a prime factor in WWE. I do agree his character really needs a good shake up and yes, I think a heel turn should be on the cards. This would do wonders for him. Rock vs. Cena? I don't mind. I prefer Rock but of course, nostalgia / childhood has a lot to do with that. Rock's just a lot ing cooler as well. Unless Rock wants another run, however, I cannot see how him winning has any logic behind it.

One of the hardest working men in the company and deserves everything he has gotten. I'm a fan.

He's like Hogan back at the end of his first WWF run or a little into his WCW run - the fans are tired of his act. He's quite talented and charismatic, but the pandering to the crowd is kinda sickening. He definitely gets a reaction, but the WWE could so so much more with him. I don't blame him, I blame the booking.
Not to say Cena doesn't have any input, I'm sure he does, but the lack of inspiration in the storylines always leads to them relying on good Ol' Cena rather than moving anywhere new or interesting.
