I personally think approaching a wrestler outside anything but an autograph session is stupid. That is their free time. You'd be a dick too if you had people constantly approaching you while you were in your free time. Thats your opinion and your free to feel that way and not approach. But there are COUNTLESS guys who are a nice ALMOST EVERY SINGLE TIME. Its the price for fame. Much like paparazzi. If you cannot accept it, find a new line of work. Here we go again. So ing sad. So you met Cena 2 ing times?! Where at....a signing?! I have met Cena COUNTLESS TIMES! Personally, Cena has never been a douche to me. But to others....he has been horrible, including a military soldier, 18 years old, 2 tours in Afghanistan, back on leave and being deployed for a 3rd....WEARING HIS FREAKING UNIFORM! Yeah....real great guy there. Not to mention countless kids he has blown off.Seen and heard countless horror stories with Orton and Punk. Neither have ever been a jerk to me. Orton has really mellowed over the past 2 years. Punk is what he is. Phil will set him off. Punk, I have personally never had a bad experience in calling him Punk. I'm sorry dude i don't believe this one bit. I've met Cena three times, Once, at a signing, Once at one of his concerts and once i just so happened to see him shopping at the Mitchell and Ness in Philly. And all three times he was genuinely a nice guy. Especially at the M&N as I appeared to be the only person who knew who he was so we chatted for I'd say 15 mins or so and i got an autograph and a picture with him. So as to your claim that Cena is a Dick I don't believe it at all man. Dont believe it. It just happened 2 weeks ago in Hershey. How long ago were your experiences? Cuz Cena used to be one of the most down to earth and super nice meets you could have. Then about 2-3 years ago.....he just got nasty. We should all judge based off of our own personal experiences. But I have seen enough to know odds of catching Cena in a good mood are VERY small. Can we actually have a thread someone meeting a wrestler with CM Showstopper coming in and telling everyone they are a jerk for some reason? It' almost like every time I See a thread, I see CM Showstopper say the guy is a jerk. So should I just avoid posting about a topic that I have something to contribute to vs. the guy posts "Punk is awesome". You dont like seeing me post in this thread or others like it....feel free not to enter them.

We met Punk at Ringsidefest and he was very laid back and friendly, addressing my 10 year old daughter and asking her name. That went a long way in my book.
Punk has nade it a point to mention that he has had some negative fan interactions while eating, using the restroom etc.
My one-time meeting was a positive one.

The way I see it the guy has met probably thousands of fans, Maybe millions who knows. You've only read like at tops 20 stories of him being an bunghole. Of those thousands of other people he met, It perfectly reasonable to say that either he had 20 bad days, Or had 20 pains in the ass who rubbed him the wrong way. Its not like EVERYONE is saying "Punk is a jackass". Its like 20 people and dont get me wrong, There probably right, He may very well have been an A-Hole to all 20. But its a small percentage of the people
Just think of your own life, We have all been less then our best to people we have only met one time. I got into a verbal exchange with someone in the parking lot of Costco one time. Im sure that guy thinks im one of the biggest A-holes walking earth lol, But 99% of the time im a nice guy, I try to be. Difference is my entire life isnt documented because im not a celebrity, Nobody knows about my bad days. Every time Punk has a negative exchange, WE ALL know! lol, You just have to put it into perspective. Punk has met tons of fans, whats 20+ negative stories of those thousands?? If he was a true A-hole he would be one ALL the time, Not some of the time.

the thing that pisses me off is when someone meets a wrestler and because that particular wrestler was not nice to THEM, that means said wrestler is a total bunghole and the worst human alive. people are so narcissistic, thinking THEY are the most important person in the world and just because they meet a celebrity that celebrity absolutely SHOULD pay the utmost respect and grant all of the meeters wishes or else they suck.

I know what you mean, Its like if people meet Punk and they bring 10 things to sign and he only signs 9 of them, Hes an a-hole! On one hand HE IS for not just signing that 10th item after signing 9 others. But on the other hand he signed 9 things for you, How many more can he sign!? Its always a 2 sided coin but generally it seems most fans dont appreciate what they do get, and dwell on what they didnt. I think thats just life, Everyone always talks about the negatives.

But I stopped posting all the positive experiences I have had here due to people like you feeling the need to take anything I say and turn it into World War 3. As far as as some of these other posts, I think people are greatly exaggerating things. No one has posted on here that Punk is jerk cuz he would only sign 9 of my 10 items. One, cuz that would NEVER happen and two b/c no one is posting that. And yes, people are going to make judgments based off of their own personal experiences. I would hope that you would have a few occassions, like the guy who is defending Cena, to base it off of.....but I can understand why you would base your opinion off your lone experience. First hand experience trumps a thousand third hand.

But people who do actually complain about something like that are not the norm...they are the rarity. When someone says no to me...I thank them anyway and go about my business. Saying no isnt being a jerk. Cussing someone out cuz they asked is. ESPECIALLY someone like Punk, who as a teen did the airports/hotels.

I don't watch wrestling because the main draw is a nice guy to the fans and he does charity work, I watch to see performers entertain me in the art of wrestling.

I know ALOT of guys who have worked with punk before he got big, and they say hes a great guy, they still keep in contact.
And if youre getting more than one item signed by him, of course hed be pissed. youre selling that crap on ebay, I would be too. Dont make profit off of my name.
IN NO WRESTLING SCHOOL, do they teach you to be nice 100 percent of the time. Being a worker is about making money, which is what hes doing.

It's ing stupid going to a airport JUST to meet them or going into the lobby of an hotel you aren't even staying at just to meet them. When WWE toured over here I stayed real close to the hotel where Vince,HHH and John Laurinaitis stayed... I could see them in the lobby waiting to go, a few people went in and got stuff signed. I just stayed outside a bit and got a picture of them leaving... So i didn't have to disturb them in anyway. It's their personal time so I don't see why the should have to deal with a douchebag shoving items in their face to be signed.

Punk was a douche when I met him in 2008 at an auto-signing the week of WrestleMania. It was he and Layla, which Layla was super nice and absolutely beautiful in person. Regaurdless of his bad attitude, his segments and matches have always been the most entertaining things on WWE television for the last 4 years now. That's all that matters to me.

See I dont understand the cursing out, I mean if all there doing is asking for an autograph he has every right to say no, But I dont know why you have to be insulted as well lol. I base this off the TNA house show I went to but I noticed alot of wrestling fans talk to the wrestlers like they "know them". And I NEVER hear anybody thank the wrestlers for signing etc. This is through my own experiences, Its like the wrestlers are supposed to do this. Iv personally never had a problem because I DO legit appreciate the autograph. I thank each wrestler sincerly and they are VERY respectful to me. I think its just because I come off as being sincere which I noticed alot of fans kinda grab the autograph and move onto the next attraction. I remember one guy in front of me handed Gunner his program, while Gunner was signing it he was talking with his buddy kinda not even paying attention. Now I dont watch TNA weekly or anything and hardly know who Gunner is (nor care) But I appreciate the guy being out there and signing and im not gonna insult him for doing a nice thing for the fans. I DO appreciate it even if I dont know the guy well.

It's not just this thread it's every time, I'm pretty sure like 90% of the WWE Roster is a jerk to you, I can see why too. He's probably shoving all kinds of poop in their faces right after a flight, a match, or just after they woke up. I'd be a jerk too because I'd be tired from all 3 Then I would suggest you dont become someone who is the spotlight IE PRO WRESTLER, movie star, sports athlete and you wont have that. I work for a staffing agency as a sales manager, but I hate it when I have people call in looking for work eventhough they have criminal backgrounds as the day is long. But I dont tell them " Off. Hows that for a pipe bomb?" Why? Cuz it is unprofessional. I know ALOT of guys who have worked with punk before he got big, and they say hes a great guy, they still keep in contact. And if youre getting more than one item signed by him, of course hed be pissed. youre selling that poop on ebay, I would be too. Dont make profit off of my name. IN NO WRESTLING SCHOOL, do they teach you to be nice 100 percent of the time. Being a worker is about making money, which is what hes doing. There are VERY few people who have worked with Punk that I have ever heard a bad word spoken about him. But we are talking about fans. In fact, friends of mine he used to hit him up at ROH shows said he was worse then than he is now. Yes, I agree that people that its understandable that people are coming to get stuff to sell on ebay and its annoying. But a great deal of them can easily be detected. They dont get programs or posters signed....they generally stick to 8X10s, insist you do not peronalize the item and have a stack of 8x10s for you to sign. But the fan? I disagree with. The fan is the guy who is going to buy your merch. moving you up the ladder. The fan is the guy who will make you more money and not cost you money. 2 minutes of your time can turn into a fan for life that is putting money in your pocket. Self marketing is a powerful tool. Zack Ryder is the ULTIMATE proven fact of that. Here you had a guy with a fan base of almost nothing. No merchandise and not being used on tv. He takes to the internet and markets himself. He takes the time to sign autos and pose for pictures and interacts with fans. Fans love interaction with their heros. Now you have a sold out crowd in MSG chanting your name, getting more air time, selling a whores worth of merchandise and life is just better. And what did it cost you? A few minutes of your time to some fans who want to see you succeed and a youtube show. GENIOUS! True Genious! Ted DiBiase is another. He started to do his DiBiase Posse Parties and has ALWAYS been a top notch at an airport or hotel. I believe he is going to see dividends, much like Ryder. Maybe a sold out MSG crowd wont chant his name....but his career is gonna be a lot better off with the self marketing. the thing that pisses me off is when someone meets a wrestler and because that particular wrestler was not nice to THEM, that means said wrestler is a total bunghole and the worst human alive. people are so narcissistic, thinking THEY are the most important person in the world and just because they meet a celebrity that celebrity absolutely SHOULD pay the utmost respect and grant all of the meeters wishes or else they suck. It's their personal time so I don't see why the should have to deal with a douchebag shoving items in their face to be signed. Ok. Thats your opinion. I find ing stupid listening to tons of people, perhaps you included, bitching about Mattel or Jakks using the wrong shade of paint, a small missing detail or the lack of accessories for a toy. Its ing stupid to come to a message board and bitch about it. If you dont like the hobby...dont participate. It aint harming you....so dont worry about it. And if it was harming the WWE talent, they would just say no everytime and people would stop doing it. But it doesnt and some of them enjoy it. See I dont understand the cursing out, I mean if all there doing is asking for an autograph he has every right to say no, But I dont know why you have to be insulted as well lol. But I guess no pics, no proof, right?

I love meeting the wrestlers at the hotel over here. It's right beside my house so I'd be foolish to pass it up. And I've dreamt of meeting some of these guys my whole life. And they only come here twice per year so that's another reason.
I meet a lot of them & they are really happy to see our enthusiasm & seem to enjoy talking to us. Yes I've noticed Punk is a dick most times(including to the kids), so I generally just stay back from him till I see if he stops with the others or not.

I love how what we say is so hard to believe when we have first hand experience. But a handful of those who have no experience at all are certain we are wrong.

Maybe he's a jerk because he is always sober. Not likely. I'm always sober and have never been a jerk. I've met CM Punk once at a signing a few years ago and I couldn't say now for sure which camp he'd fall into. He wasn't rude or anything but he didn't look friendly or approachable either. Sort of a "going through the motions" feel to him.
