Thoughts?
Figure Mir is on deck.

I was reading that over on Sherdog and I'm not sure it's true or not at this point. Some are saying he skipped town and headed back to Holland to be with his ailing mother. Others are saying he possibly failed a pre-fight drug test, so who knows??
We'll have to stay tuned and find out more as this story develops...

Yeah, I heard the rumour too. Ariel Helwani even asked Dana about the legitimacy of it during the press conference.
Hopefully it's not true. I'm looking forward to this fight a lot. Mir filling in would make sense, but at the same time, Brock/Mir III seems kind of sudden. Especially considering there's a lot of money to be made from that fight with adequate time for promotion and what not. Plus, being the rubber match, I would like for them to be readily prepared for each other. Not just three weeks notice.

Man, I really hope this isn't true... there's so many big match-ups falling through lately. And - if it came to it - would Mir be able to fill in so soon after UFC 140??

I wouldn't mind Mir filling in if this is true, That just means we get to see Brock annihilate Mir's face one more time! Lol Mir didn't look to good tonight i mean Nog ing rocked him! Who know what could happen if Brock connects with his power, could be lights out for Mir.

Mir didn't look good!?! He BROKE A MANS ARM!!!! And yes! People get rocked by punches, people through the "having a chin" thing to much in the heavyweight division, one punch off ANY of the men in the heavyweight division can knock someone out.
Frank Mirs said it, Roy Nelsons said it, no shamed in getting rocked in that division by anyone, especially big Nog, he's a legend. And Frank Mir Vs Lesnar 3 would be awesome.
Frank said he'd fill in at the press conference.

Had Nog not gone for the choke i'm 99% sure he WOULD have stopped Mir and honestly if the ref would have stopped the fight it would have been completely justified in my opinion because it definitely looked like Mir was out. I'm just saying that I feel like if its Brock/Mir 3 I see Brock taking it especially considering it's short notice and that he completely dominated Mir in the second fight. The only difference between Mir then and Mir now is the muscle he put on and i don't see that making much of a difference.

Anyone can get rocked by a decent shot. Being able to capitalize on openings and snatch up submissions like that is just as important as being able to throw a good punch when it comes to being a complete fighter. I really hope that rumor isn't true though. I've been waiting to long time for Reem fight in the UFC.

Based on what Dana and Overeem are saying, this is a case of one guy putting one and one together and getting three.
Reem IS on the NSAC agenda for tomorrow, but it in regards to just being licensed. Keith Jardine and Vlad Matyushenko are both listed in the same way.
Reem recently moved his fight camp back to Holland to be with his sick mother, who is fighting cancer.
This is being read into by people as "he skipped town to avoid a drug test" or "he's out of town because he is hurt." Ever since this rumor started it seems nobody can even agree or pin down an actual reason why Reem is out. It is all rumor and hearsay right now.
At this point, both Dana and Reem are saying no problem, and I'll trust their word unless the NSAC comes up tomorrow and says "No, there is a problem."

I'd prefer to see the fight go as scheduled, but as a fan of Mir, wouldn't mind seeing him get it either.

I'm going to guess this is a case of someone learning that Overeem was listed on the NSAC agenda for today, and not knowing how it works, so they jumped to conclusions.
The actual text from the agenda says:
It appears the phrase "for possible action" is what is setting people off. However, if people actually took time to read the actual document, and compare it to previous agendas, they would see that EVERYTHING is listed as "for possible action" because it is simply the meeting where everything is approved. All fighters who fight in Nevada must be licensed, and the commission must approve it. As it stands right now, that is all that is happening, and there has been no indication given of anything otherwise. Dana, Lorenzo, and The Reem have all said nothing is wrong, and the fight is on.
One guy who is helping to fuel the fire is Bloodstain Lane, who says on Twitter that he was the one who "broke the story" and that it is a HUGE deal, yet nothing to back it up.
Again, we will see what happens when the meeting takes place around 6pm ET, but for now, it seems a normal NSAC item has been taken out of context.

For some reason Overeem has not taken his pre-fight state commision test yet, therefore Nevada won't grant him a licesence

NSAC says they asked Overeem and Lesnar to take drug tests. Lesnar did it and it was fine. They didn't hear from AO for 4 days. NSAC says they made request to test Overeem on 11/17, but he left for Holland on 11/17.On Nov. 23, Overeem did a test, but it was the wrong test. It was a blood test, but it did test for Testosterone and other drugs. The test came back "normal" for all that it was tested for. The test was performed in Holland. Alistair Overeem did the right test on 12/7. They hope to have the results "later this week." But in the interm he cant be granted a licesence

I am sure he is fine.
Now I dont want this fight to happen I like Reem..and I want Lesnar to be a huge draw for years to come. The outcome of this fight could be very very bad.

Final Verdict: Overeem has been granted a conditional license, and the fight is on, as long as Reem submits to 4 additional drug tests:
- Within the next 72 hours in Europe (Reem is still currently in Holland) - Upon arrival in Nevada for UFC 141 - 2 more tests to be completed at random within 6 months of UFC 141 at Reem's expense.
