Hitchens, to me, was a brilliant writer, incredible debater, and fantastic journalist. Had been around for decades, recently making waves for his debates with those within the religious circles. Regardless of your stance on his issues, the man certainly made news with whatever he did, very sad to hear of his passing.

There's only be a handful of times that I've been as sad over the death of someone I've never met as I was when I read the news. He truly was an amazing person. His wit, style, intelligence and willingness to stand up for his beliefs even when it made him the subject of hatred are to be admired.
He really is one of my heroes.
