Hello, everyone. I am new to the wrestling figure game, but have collected toys and comics for over thirty years. i like to do dio stories. My question is the basic line where mattel throws out the most new characters or guys that will most likely only have one figure (Chris Masters the Nexus guys that are gone). I have been just an elite and legends guy for the past year but would really like to get some of the obscure guys. Does the t crotch make a difference to y'all.
Do they do the basic just to have cheaper price point for figures, becues I think they should all just be swivel ball jointed hips.

I find the basic legs to be too close to each other on display, so I prefer Elite legs.

I'm a basic only guy myself, but I only display my figures. They look much more realistic in my opinion.

Is there a large difference in height between the two. Like the older Jakks deluxe guys were way taller than their basic guys.
at least with these the proportions seem to be much better, just not sure on height.

I really like the Elite figures for posing and general movement. The basic legs remind me of the old Super Powers figures (which I like) but I can only afford to have 1 collection at the moment. I have added a few Basics in the collection (Just figures that don't exist in Elite form). Personal preference: Elite but honestly, the new basics are looking better and better.

I am mostly elites but I do have some basics who i don't think would have good elite accessories i.e. i will get a basic ezekiel jackson, he'll most likely come with an elite corre shirt which i don't care about.

Elites and Basics are all to scale with each other. The only difference in the figure itself is the articulation.

Awesome bit the bullet and picked up a basic Masters and Shefield they do go pretty good with elite/legends.

Basics are great for kids since it's cheaper and their parents can afford to buy them while Elite is strictly for collectors since the higher price point with accessories.
I just hate the legs on Basics, so close and awkward.

The way i collect is i buy ALL Elites, Basics of guys who dont have elites, and basics of unique attires from a diffrent ere (i.e SS Orton or SS Show)
but Elites are definetly better. look at the tattoos on a basic punk then on an Elite punk. plus the accesories.

I prefer the elite legs, but they're not perfect. They're rife with articulation issues.

I like the Elite legs much better!
I just counted my Mattel figures (only the ones still in WWE and minus the duplicates) and I have 14 basics, and 14 Elites, so I guess I collect them equally.

I prefer Basics. The T-Crotches are backwards for a 2011 toy line, and I do wish they were ball jointed or whatever, but since I just display I prefer the basics for aesthetic reasons. Saying that, the Elite packaging is a lot nicer, and more 'collector-friendly'.

I prefer the elite legs, but they're not perfect. They're rife with articulation issues. I haven't had any problems with any elite figures so far. Just loose joints or broken parts? I know that early DC Universe Classics had TERRIBLE leg articulation issues with legs falling off and such.
