What are some of your favorite film scores? (otherwise known as soundtracks, usually instrumentals) Hans Zimmer (imo) is the best composer for films. He's amazing and just his music is worth paying to see the movie.
Here are a few of mine:
"Cry" from "The Holiday". This piece of music is very epic sounding. Sure, the film is a chick-flick, but Hans Zimmer never fails to deliver when composing a score for a film.
favorite part begins at 0:44
"Time" from "Inception"- another awesome piece by Hans Zimmer
'nuff said:
"Guilty of Being Innocent" from "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" This opens the film and really sets the tone for the rest of the movie- Hans Zimmer again (he's done all the POTC films, btw)
What are some of your favs?

Trent Reznor or Ennio Morricone for me. I love Reznor's approach to soundtracks, don't watch the movie and make what you think it is, never let the music overtake a scene.
And Ennio Morricone is pretty much a genius when it comes to movie scores to me. He's made some of the most iconic music in movie history.
Although a big favorite has to be the music to Dancer in the Dark. A lot of people don't like Bjork it seems, but I think she was brilliant in this.

I LOVE the Batman Returns and Die Hard scores, just so moody and atmospherical. Also like the Fight Club score, and the James Bond: License To Kill score is badass too, oh any really any of the original 4 Batman films tbh too.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are excellent composers they won the Oscar for best score for the Social Network. Alexandre Desplat is good too and so is Danny Elfman. Film Score soundtracks are way better than various artists soundtracks because they give so much more to the film.

A very underrated movie...
And an EXTREMELY underrated soundtrack. I've NEVER owned another CD (Even M.J.'s stuff, where I liked EVERY song on it...)

John Williams, Alan Silvestri, Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard are all gods at film scoring. Shirley Walker who composed the music for Batman the Animated Series and Batman Mask of the Phantasm was one of the few female score composers in the industry. Christopher L. Stone is not really well known but his score for The Stupids was phenomenal even though 99% of the population hate that movie for some reason.
