I can't stand him as an actor, but I have nothing against him as a person.

He wasn't the perfect Ghost Rider, but I'd rather have Cage than some annoying fart like Ben Affleck.

Cage is a hammy actor who always tries to channel this Elvis Presley swagger in all his roles. He's the type of guy who is willing to sign on for just about every movie no matter how bad, although part of that is because he's had so many financial troubles over the last few years that he's had no choice. Although he's made some great movies throughout the first part of his career, he's made some questionable choices over the last decade. Wicker Man, Next, Ghost Rider, National Treasure 2, Knowing, Sorcerer's Apprentice, and Season of the Witch are all absolutely awful movies, and were amongst the worst films released their respective years.
What's frustrating about Cage is that he has made a lot of classics, Matchstick Men, Lord of War, Adaptation, Face Off, Con Air, are all great movies. It's just weird how Cage's movies are polarizing in that their either really great or really awful. The only two movies of his that are just kind of meh are National Treasure, which has good action, but a stupid, implausible, story, and World Trade Center, which was good, but told the wrong story about 9/11.
and if the guy who said he enjoyed Wicker Man and thought it was good is serious, and not just a troll, either you are very confused about which movie your talking about, or should never criticize another film ever again. That movie is terrible, plain and simple.

I've grown to enjoy Nic Cage. He's just so damn weird and he amplifies that in his films. Sometimes he's both crazy and good and sometimes he's so horrible that it's entertaining. Win win situation if you ask me.
I remember reading an interview with him and someone asked what he does in his free time. He simply answered, "staring outside my window, just looking at things." I couldn't stop laughing..
