If by some miracle Paul won the nomination, who would they vote for? Would they stay at home and let Obama have another 4 years? If Paul won, the numbers would tilt heavily in Obama's favor as more people learned about Paul. He'd also likely split the Republican party and you'd see a guy like Romney or Gingrich run as a legit 3rd party who would take 15-20% of the vote. Well as you said, that would heavily favor Obama. But my question is, would "establishment" Republicans being willing to go through four more years of Obama if it kept Paul out of the White House? Because as you mentioned, a third party run will end up splitting the vote.

He wouldn't split the party. The party would vote for him. Every single poll has shown that, and the numbers have only increased, but Hulk continues to disregard it. Meh.

How long did it take CNN to even MENTION Ron Paul in the post-debate discussion tonight? Look, I understand that Romney/Santorum/Gingrich probably had more INTERESTING things to say tonight (because they really went after one another and no one can really attack Ron Paul because he's so consistent), but there were only FOUR people on the stage tonight.
CNN, how hard is it to at least MENTION Ron Paul?
I sat and watched the post-debate discussion for over a half hour and they spoke exclusively about the other three candidates that ENTIRE TIME. I stopped counting eventually before one person finally said something about caucus states and how they bode well for Dr. Paul... Only to have them immediately say, "WELL WE HAVEN'T TALKED MUCH ABOUT RON PAUL TONIGHT" and cut to a break.
Gee, thanks.
That was the extent of the discussion of Ron Paul in the entire post-debate discussion. HOW SICKENING.
The way that the media BLATANTLY blacks him out, despite his immense success, is unbelievable. I really can't fathom how this continues to happen time and time again. It's AMAZING to me that this is allowed to happen on such a large stage. Everyone who is paying attention can see it and they just do it over, and over, and over again.
Look, you can disagree with Ron Paul all you want. But for national media sources to act like he just doesn't exist is so ridiculously unfair that it goes BEYOND their usual efforts to push one of the candidates down our throats (which they're also doing with Romney). This attempt to black out Ron Paul just goes to prove how terrified they are of this guy.
Ron Paul threatens these peoples' ways of life and I suppose that I should just live with the fact that he will never, ever receive anything CLOSE to a fair shake from them.
You say you hate politics? Well then do your part and help throw a wrench in what these tyrannical monsters who control the government AND the media are trying to do to you. Get out there and support Ron Paul. Even if you don't agree with everything he says, you can bet your last penny that he will NOT screw you over. He is the unquestionably the most genuine candidate running for President and he WILL do an amazing job of exposing the corruption that these other people are causing in Washington.
I beg of you -- join me in defeating Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich. Join me defeating Barack Obama. Join me in FINALLY ELECTING SOMEONE WHO ISN'T A COMPLETE SCUMBAG into the highest office in this country.
Live free, my friends.
Ron Paul 2012.

Paul needs to knock down on Romney more. He already did with Gingrich and Santorum but for some reason he's been pretty quiet against Romney.

So first Lawrence completely dismissed Ron Paul's second place finish in NH, now he's defending him?

There is a huge and influential faction of the GOP that would NEVER support Paul in a million years. They differ with him on policy. They're still bitter that he refused to give his delegates to McCain last election cycle. There's a number of reasons. There are enough of them that they could easily run Romney or Gingrich or someone like that and get 20-25% of the national vote. Easily. The way they would see is that Paul has no chance, but if they can run Romney or Gingrich and take votes from him they may have a chance.

And yet every piece of factual data we have completely flies in the face of your apparent opinion that any other candidate would do any better. Let's be completely honest right now... Without the support of the Ron Paul people, absolutely none of the Republican candidates stand a snowball's chance in hell against Obama in a general election. Even if you say Ron Paul's people are only 10% of the Republican party, that's enough to completely swing the election for Obama.

Any candidate other than Paul would do better because the party would at least back them. They'd still lose, but the party would back them. Polls with Obama/Paul assume the Republican party would back him and that there is no 3rd party candidate like Romney/Gingrich. I don't think either of those would happen.

Are you seriously saying the Republican Party will come out and say don't vote for our guy, vote for someone else?

I'm saying the conservative and moderate wing of the party would rather split, back Gingrich, Romney or someone of the like and try to steal votes away from Obama, than back Paul. Paul does not play well with his own party. Just look at the last cycle when he refused to give his delegates to McCain. I'll bet he does the same thing this year if he doesn't get the nomination.

How about we ask the people who they support. The people would support Ron Paul as the Republican nominee.

I think the important people do know and do care. Either way, it shows that Paul doesn't play well with his own party. If he doesn't win the nomination this year will he give his delegates to whomever the nominee is? Somehow I think not.

No, Kliquid showed you that other candidates did not release delegates to McCain and nothing happened. So your argument there is debunked. God, get off the delegate thing. You've been proven wrong. For 's sake, come up with something new.
