I think it should be labeled personally. from what I've researched, the bill is poorly written and full of exemptions with openings for all kinds of lawsuits I am not a fan of all those negatives Well when you put it that way nevermind haha

But I think thoughts motivated by fear and anger come from one side a lot more than the other. Which is why I don't like that side. Hmmm, did you not see how Democrats potrayed George Bush's entire presidency? Both sides are just as guilty of this and to suggest one does it more than the other is crazy. However, I'll gladly pick the side that supports the constitution, rather than the one that underminds it. Aww yeah, look to the Constitution! Should we bring back slavery and make blacks worth 3/5s of whites? We don't live in 1776. I don't get all this Constitution Amurrica crap. I think it's just an excuse to be hateful. Not to change the subject, but what is everyone's thoughts on drug testing welfare recipitants? I think it makes you sound very conservative. And hateful. But I am certainly no fan of drugs, and think we'd be better off neutering and spaying poor people.

Honestly I think we need to make birth control readily available so we can prevent kids being born that parents aren't ready and able to raise. The black illegitimacy rate last year was 72 percent - that is pathetic. We need to find a happy medium between being taken advantage of by lazy people and being heartless jerks. I don't know about drug testing welfare people but it sounds like it's motivated by ugliness. Drugs suck all around, but stupid people never smarten up.

That kind of stupid, uncivil rhetoric comes from both sides.. election seasons bring out the worst of people Social networking and the internet in general has made is SOOOOO much worse. I've seen everything from family fall outs to friendships clearly ending via facebook due to stupid political crap this year. Much more so than previous elections. The further along we get and more reliant we get on technology when it comes to communicating with one another, the worse it seems to get. The net gives everyone a voice and people have gotten so into the idea of typing things and sitting back and waiting on a response that it seriously brings out the worst in people. I've read some very mean things said about people, and as you said, on both sides of the fence. Things said from people that would NEVER say such things in a face to face situation. It's all about having a computer screen to put on their big boy britches and turn on that John Wayne complex they always fantasized about having in the real world but were never able to do. It's a shame but that's the nature of the beast we've become. The fact that the country seems so split down the middle is also a big problem. It would make sense if we could find a happy medium, but instead people are drawing lines in the sand. People thinking their beliefs make them "real" Americans is pathetic. But I am calling for C Dub Dos - Civil War 2. Maybe we can finally solve the ideological battle once and for all. Or split the US into 2 countries. The States are not United at all and this back and forth stuff is beyond old. Thousands of years of existence and nobody has figured anything out - other than that no matter what they have, most people want more (the Ryback Syndrome).

I completely agree that birth control should be made more readily available to those who need it, but how on earth is anyone supposed to extrapolate that underlying viewpoint from "poor people should be spayed and neutered"?

On the subject of drug testing welfare recipients, I'm not entirely sure where I stand, but I know that something absolutely has to be done.
During my final semester of school, my public affairs class did an in depth piece of Maine's welfare system and spent months gathering data, speaking to recipients, talking to grocery chains and mom and pop stores to see how it effected them, etc.
A lot of the information we found was downright astounding. The amount of welfare fraud that goes on in the state of Maine alone, particularly related to drugs, is off the charts.
We spoke with a dozen individuals in one town alone that had absolutely no qualms about admitting that they had used their entire monthly allowance to purchase bottled water. They went into the parking lot, dumped the water out, brought it to a redemption center, and purchased marijuana with it the very same afternoon. That's the just the start of some of the stuff we heard. It was disgusting.

Sounds like an argument AGAINST the electoral college to me. Here's the thing though. The problem with the electoral college is that you have a handful of states that influence the election every year. The rest of the states don't matter. Would we agree that is the main problem? Going to a direct vote doesn't really fix the problem. You have a handful of states with a high population of swing voters. Those states are going to influence the election. No one else is going to see a candidate. So it really doesn't solve the problem. My main problem with it is that red voters in blue states or blue voters in red states have votes that don't matter, but going straight to a popular vote would change that. The College is essential. Without it, our President would be chosen by California, New York and Texas every four years and screw the rest of the country. I disagree. It would be chosen by the people, regardless of where they are. Those places would have more influence because they have more people. I fail to see how that isn't fair. I'm staying up for the election with a few like-minded people, think the final result will come in around 6AM. The mood in the room if Romney wins will be so depressing lol, anyone in England who wants him to win is derided as a right wing nutjob. #Obama2012

My polling place opens at 6am tomorrow, and I've got the day off, soooo, my game plan is roughly: - Wake up, likely between 6:30am and 7:00am - Shower - Begrudgingly drive to my polling place, headphones in tow. - Navigate crowds of over-caffeinated sign wavers, standing in like in 40 to 50 degree temperatures. - Write in two bogus, farces of candidates in a bogus, farce of an election. Snap picture of completed ballot with iPhone so I can upload a picture that says something to the effect of "There. I voted. Leave me alone". - Travel to the nearest Redbox with a copy of WWE '13. - Hide from all TV and internet coverage of the election by immersing myself in the blissfully ignorant Attitude era.

If the USA elect Romney I think we'll have to reinstate the Queen as their leader for their own good.

I think it's just an excuse to be hateful. What Constitution have you been reading? It has nothing to do with being hateful, it has to do with keeping to your principles that have made us great for so long. Since the vibe I get from you is that the Republican party is this hateful, racist, party, you should really do some research on history. It as Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican President, whom abolished slavory. Post civil-war, Democrats were aiding the KKK in scaring off black voters once the civil rights movement began and black people had the right to vote.

Something I was just wondering (as I take a food break from my WWE '13 rental 'cause that Bad Blood IYH match is a bitch):
In the history of online and Facebook based political discourse, has there ever been a documented case of an argument ending after both sides presented their cases, complete with built in name-calling, prompting one or the other to go "Oh my god, you're right!" and do a complete 180 in regard to their political stances?
I don't think there has.
