Feel I need to get this off my chest, lol ... so, I found an entire case of Royal Rumble Heritage at two different K-Marts this week ... minus the only three figures I want -- Bret, Shawn and Goldust -- on each occasion. I applaud most of what Mattel does, but I think they really messed up with the case selection for this series. I understand Mysterio generally sells like crazy amongst kids, but why a 5-1 ratio with guys like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels? I doubt I'll be the only one having trouble finding the "big two" from this series because they're so short-packed. Would two each of two of the best of all-time be too much to ask?

I think Mattel is scared that Legends could end up sitting if they produced them more than 1 per case. So far, the Elite Flashbacks are one per case too and the popular stars have more than 1.
I think Mattel is trying to prove to retailers that Legends can sell well so 1 per case is the safest bet.
You guys have to remember that Mattel does care about the collectors but collectors aren't buying all their product. They are targeting moms that have kids that watch wrestling and going by what their kids want.

seriously, that sucks.
while i understand the legends might not be shifting with kids, but think about it. most kids around 8-9 know who shawn michaels and goldust are, brets been on tv recently so they do know who he is yet they're scared they wouldn't shift ?
i don't buy that.

Dang. 5 Mysterios is absurd, considering the shelves are already packed with #1 Mysterio from basic 13 that nobody wants. I could understand putting 1 of an obscure legend, but Hart, Michaels, and Goldust have all been featured regularly at some point over the past couple of years. And putting 5 of anything per case is destined to cause shelfwarming.

Just be patient, I'm sure they'll all be plenty abundant at retail at some point.

According to RSC Rey is 4 per case but yes it sucks that Bret & HBK are 1 each. I don't care about Goldust as I have his other Basic and Elite, but Bret and Shawn are the only ones I want from the set.

After finishing my search for Vickie, I'm glad I went to RSC for series 14 & 15. BTW the 3 Kmarts nearest to me don't have any RRH.

I've yet to see RRH at retail either. I got my Bret before Christmas from RSC.

It really sucks, cause u want to get those popular figures and when u go u dont see them, is like elite flash back, i went to kmart on wednesday and found legends series 6 almost complete good cause i bought warrior, i was looking around and only have the luck to find only 1 elite papa shango and there where none elites and the worst part is that the only figure that come on the box a idi!#@ that buy them all so they sell them on internet for high prices.
Mattel u need to do something for this stuff come on we dont want more reys or cenas we want people that havent got a figure

I've had my rr heritage for a couple months now and those three figures are awesome I got Vickie from a member here and I will do the same if I can get RRH HBK. I'm so tired of driving places, and I get no thrill from the hunt, I get annoyed. It's honestly worth it to me to spend the extra money to not have to look all over for the shit.

I went to Kmart today and didn't see any RRH. All I want is Bret and Goldust.

I had gotten a tip a week back on the LI boards about them popping up and was told they had at least 2 cases worth out on the pegs. When I got there, I managed to snag the last Shawn and Goldust. It sucks that the figures worth picking up are only 1 per case.
I'm still on the hunt for RRH Bret as we speak.

It's all about creating demand and scarcity. Lines with rarer, more expensive figures produce "prestige" for that toy line. I for one enjoy the thrill of the hunt, but if that doesn't excite you then online is the best way. I'd order cases if I didn't like checking the pegs so much.

Yes, it does create a "scarcity" of the short packed figures, a false demand makes them more appealing but most kids in K Mart will NOT want a Shawn Michaels or Bret Hart. They will want a Cena or Mysterio and, though I think they should not be short packed, it would be bad for us if they did send out a TON of that kind of stuff and it sat and never got purchased (Legends). Stores stop carrying that stuff. Online is the way to go a lot of times but I sometimes enjoy the "Hunt" I am not at that point anymore, though.

I always enjoy the thrill of the hunt. I like short-packed figures. If I feel it has got to the point where I missed them at retail (Which hasn't happened much with the Mattel line, once or twice) I then turn to online resources. Figure hunting is half the fun of collecting if you ask me.

Figure hunting is half the fun of collecting if you ask me. You're crazy, man! I'm so sick and tired of fruitless hunts. Hasbro is doing a pretty crappy job with GI Joes, and Mattel has sucked with the WWE since day one, just like I knew they would. The crappiest thing in collecting these days is fighting against all the scalpers, hoarders (people who buy extras to trade), army builders (for GI Joe), uneven distribution, bad case packs, etc. It's supposed to be fun - if I wanted to waste hours fruitlessly hoping I'd go fishing!

the easy argument is "oh well kids will buy up all the Reys & Cena" however every store I go into is flooded with John Cena & Rey Mysterio figures. One of the Walmarts near me literally has 2 pegs full of nothing but various Cena figs (Series 10, SS Heritage, Extreme Rules)
There is absolutely ZERO good reason why Mattel can't/won't pack each figure 2 per case. Jakks never f-ed around with casepacks and their figures sold fine. Part of the game is dealing with a few shelf warmers....not loading the cases with figures they "think" people will buy
